I open the door, my eyes not glancing at him for even a moment. "Come inside." I let him in and he stands in front of the couch, I stand in front of him. My eyes looking down at the floor. "I don't know why you're here, but if it's to apologize you need to know. You didn't do anything wrong, you were right. Kaeya was going to be a problem. Just make this quick.. and be on your way." I look over to his shoes and then his jacket. He's wetting our carpet. "Or.. maybe dry off first." I head over to our cabinets, even though he seemed so stern it doesn't seem like he can muster up the courage to speak. I throw him a small towel, which manages to lay on his head. He does a quick pat down as I go sit on the couch.

"(Y/N) I.." He can't seem to find the right words. "I wasn't calling you to end things, I was calling you to patch things up." My heart dropped and the flood gates were threatening to burst open.

"But.." My voice quivered. "I thought you were going out with Jean? The turtle plush.. the day you came to pick her up. I saw you... so.." My voice trailed off. I looked up at him, a sad look on his face.

"We weren't going out (Y/N), I don't have any feelings for her. I should've reassured you that from the start." He kneeled down in front of me, placing the flowers on my lap. "Yeah.. maybe I did blow the Kaeya thing out of proportion at first." He sighs. "I need to you to tell me now, do you have any feelings for him?"

"I know you saw him kiss me." I take in a deep breath. "But I don't have feelings for him, he kissed me. I gave him a good punch for that afterwards." I take the flowers into my hands. Butterflies flying in my stomach. I take in their sweet scent, a small smile coming onto my face. "I should've trusted you, I'm sorry for getting so jealous." I look to him, my eyes watering again. "It's my fault Diluc, I should've apologized so long ago. About the vase, about the jealousy, and especially about your brother. I don't know how I let it go on." Diluc could have just about anyone else, so why is he here.

Suddenly he embraced me, somewhat squishing the flowers between us. "I haven't stopped thinking about you for a moment, I just needed some time to think about how we should move forward. I really can't see myself without you (Y/N). Can you see yourself without me?" I've been moping about because that was something I hadn't figured out. I enjoyed hanging with Amber, even so having Diluc hold me, say sweet things, and even tease me was so hard to deal with no longer having. I knew that once Diluc ended things, I'd never have that again. Or at the very least, it wouldn't be the same.

"Of course I can't.." I wrapped my arms around him taking in his scent. "I'm so sorry about everything that happened with Kaeya." Around the time me and Diluc finally started trying to work things out, Diluc had to pick me up from my art class. I was excited to show him one of my finished landscapes.

"(Y/N)." Kaeya called out to me, seeing I was still there. "Are you waiting for someone?" We'd more or less became friends over the class, it was my last day however.

"Hey, yeahh. He should be here soon." He knew who I was talking about, he hasn't really mentioned him or acknowledged him. I'm not sure if he knows he's been a rock in the gears for us however, but he could've guessed.

"You didn't show me your finished product, sorry that some of the others were taking up so much of my time." He gave me a small smile. I turned the painting so he could fully see it.

"I love the way it turned out." I lower the painting and set it on the floor. I look out to the parking station and don't see his car.

"Is that so? How should I persuade you to stay?" I laugh slightly.

"I'm not sure you can. I've taken all I needed from this class, it's just a hobby for me after all. I might pop in for a few sessions here and there, don't worry." Kaeya smiles sadly, almost.

"Well why don't we grab a drink sometime.. I know I lost my chance last time." I don't think Diluc would like that at all, and after last time definitely not. Kaeya may have not mentioned it since, and been a gentleman, he might still have ulterior motives.

"Sorry, I'm not sure that's going to be possible." I scratch my head nervously. "You'll just have to hope you'll see me around." Which won't be very likely, and even so I'll avoid him.

"Should I hope..?" He inches closer. "Or maybe I should jump at a chance to make you stay." He pulls me in by my waist, tilting my head forward and planting a long kiss, I can't escape despite my struggles. "I know you and Diluc have been having problems. Don't turn me away now, you've been here because of me. You're leaving because you're finally going to be with Diluc."

"What!? You've read between the lines so wrong, because there isn't anything between them!" He comes closer and I instinctively punch his face. "No, you stay the hell away from me! Diluc was right about you." I hurry off to a store close by, not wanting to stick around.

I called Diluc, but the phone rang and rang. Why wasn't he picking up? Eventually, I got Amber to give me a ride back home.

"Diluc?" I called out, but he wasn't there. I stayed up for a while and ended up falling asleep. The next morning he was there. Cooking breakfast for us. "Diluc?" He turned around and just had a disappointed and tired face. "Where were you yesterday? I was worried."

"Were you? Or were you too busy with Kaeya." It instantly hit me.

"Diluc I.. we need to talk alright?" He set down a plate of eggs. I need to explain to him what's been going on.

"You're right, we do. We need a break from each other." My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach. It's.. over between us? A break never ends well.

"..." I just stared at him in disbelief. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"You were right about Kaeya, I should've listened. I'm really sorry Diluc." I sighed. He held my hand, shaking his head.

"As long as you don't feel anything for him, I can't stay I'm mad at you. Mad at Kaeya is a different story, he's quite the flirt.." He trails off, most likely not wanting to say more about his flirty and lusty behavior. "I cut off ties with Jean.. she won't be getting in our way now." My eyes widened, he did that for me?

"You.. really?" I ask with genuine curiosity and surprise. "You didn't have to do that, I shouldn't of gotten jealous over things. You wouldn't do that sort of thing." I laugh it off, however he squeezes my hand

"Don't start (Y/N), you don't need to hold back. This was my decision. A decision I made for us, I won't let something like that get in our way again." He offers me a tender smile.

"Ok." I say a little sheepishly. "Thank you." I squeezed his hand back gently. "Thank you."
