Diluc's POV

I see one of my customers looking down, nothing out of the usual. However, I believe I've seen her from somewhere. The place is mostly empty, Charles can take care of any incoming orders. I stride over, and take the seat in front of her. "Are you alright?" She looks up, her face flushed. It's a Tuesday afternoon, not something you see too often. She looks back down at her drink, which I'm tempted to take from her.

"It's just.. I'm going to have to shut down my shop if business continues like this." She hiccups, but that's when I realize it. She used to go to my school. It must be tough for her, she never seemed like the type to do this.

Your POV

As Diluc finishes his retelling, I'm finishing up my fries in his office. "How sweet of you, the flowers are beautiful too." I smile at the vase on his desk. "Valentine's Day is around the corner, I'm sure whatever bouquet she comes up with for the week will be wonderful!" I put a little more ketchup on my plate. "Anyways I should get going now." I gobble up a few more fries, Diluc giving me an endearing smile.

"Alright, I'll see you tonight." He grabs my plate and opens the door for me. He places a kiss on my head as I'm about to say goodbye. My face immediately turns a bright red.

"..! I uh.. see you later!" I hurry back to my car, I don't know why, but that left me so flustered. We've been dating for a while, but it's not like him to do PDA. I decide to go shopping for a few paint materials. By the time I get back home it's barely 5, I decide to call Amber. "Hey!"

"Hey, how are you? I haven't seen you in a while." I can hear her smiling through the phone. She's always there when I need her.

"I haven't been doing much, just bought some art supplies. Maybe we should paint together? Have you ever painted before Amber?" I can hear her hum in thought.

"Yeah, high school. Not very good. I enjoyed it however, let's do it. Let's paint sometime. However, I'm not all too free these days. I'll tell you when some free time comes." She giggles. "You called me in the middle of my break. Don't worry, I was bored." I sigh in relief, I didn't want to be bothering her.

"Could I possibly interest you in joining a painting class with me?" I get up to get a drink from my fridge. "I'm taking one soon, and I don't want to do it alone.." I whine.

"Unlike you, I'm pretty busy (Y/N)." She sighs. "I'm sorry, but I do promise to paint with you eventually." I smile slightly at that.

"Alright, I'll leave you be then." The conversation was short but sweet. I've tried to get Diluc to paint matching cups with me before, to no avail. He was either too busy at the time or just wanted to relax. Diluc usually doesn't like to eat what's at his bar, meaning he'll probably be coming home hungry tonight as well. I'll cook us up some dinner. I make a quick meal and wrap his portion up in plastic wrap. Once I'm done I look around at the empty house. I sigh, it's been lonely here. Diluc has to work late practically everyday, never leaving himself time for a break. That just leaves me with nothing to do however. Will this really work out for us? I decide to pull out a canvas and head outside. It's freezing out here, but I'd rather not paint inside. I put on an old smock and just start. As the only light fades away and it only gets colder I don't stop. Something is just telling me to keep going. I picked the wrong thing all those years ago, but I will prove to myself this one is the right thing.

Bye the time I come back to my senses, I hear the door open. I look up toward the moon, practically half way in the sky. I sigh and look at my finished painting. A swirl of reds to oranges and a blend to blue on the other side. One with a flourishing garden the other one has withering roses. I grab my painting and easel and head inside. I put it in the storage closet and peak my head into the living room. I shut the backyard door, making sure to lock it before I go see him. "Hey, welcome home."

"Hey, thanks for making dinner." He puts it in the microwave. He starts taking off his coat and vest, which I take from him. He grabs my wrist abruptly. "You're freezing.. are you ok?" There's worry in his eyes.

"I'm great. Don't worry." I go hang up his coat and vest, I can feel him staring. It's making me uneasy. Once I head back to him he pulls me into his arms, he's unbelievably warm. I snuggle into him.

"You're freezing (Y/N)." There's worry in his voice. "Are you sure you're ok?" He pulls my face to look at him. I lean into his hands. I just nod. "Were you outside?" I eyes shoot open in surprise.

"Well... maybe." I can't bring myself to lie to him. He sighs, wrapping his arms around my waist. I go back to cuddling him. He places a kiss on my head before resting his chin on my head.

"What am I going to do if you get sick? I'm going have to take days off take care of you, don't be so reckless." His arms tighten their grip around me. I'll probably be fine. "Why were you out there?" I hear the microwave beep, causing him to let go. I step away from him reluctantly.

"I was painting. I met with Kaeya," I hear him mutter 'shit' under his breath, "he's alright. I'll be going next week for my first class and we'll see from then on." I look over to see he's burned his finger on the plate. I sit at the table, he sits across from me. "I hope you like it, I know reheated food isn't always good." He gives me a small smile.

"If you cooked it, I know it'll be good." He takes a bite smiling wider. I love watching him eat, he always smiles when he does. I sigh, almost forgetting he was there.

"I should go head to sleep, goodnight." I get up pushing in my chair. I would talk to him, but if he's eating I'd rather not. We can talk about whatever we need to on Sunday.
