"Yo, I'm gonna be forreal with you Lily", a girl Lilith didn't recognise slurred from beside her. "I can tell you're gonna be my favourite out of alllll these bitches".

Lilith eyed the girl cautiously, she'd never met her before. She had amber coloured skin, with brown curly frizzy hair that was all over the place, and full lips. "Yeah... it's Lilith, but you can call me Lils". Lilith corrected, before holding her hand out to the anonymous female in front of her.

"Right, sorry... Ruby Bennett, but you can call me rue." The girl slurred, taking Lils hand and shaking it sloppily.

Rue is such a pretty name. Lilith thought, before sparking a random conversation with her new... friend? She'd barely even looked at any of the other girls, but she could tell they'd all get along just fine.

Time passed with Lilith and Rue just talking about anything and everything. They both quickly found out about their shared past with drugs, how they both were or had been addicted and how they both had absolutely no intentions of staying clean. They kept talking until Lexi spoke up, getting everyone's attention.

"Yo Fezco and Ashtray are gonna be here in a minute guys." She announced, earning some "oooo's" from her friends.

"Who's fezco and ashtray?" Lilith asked curiously, turning to face Rue again.

Rue just chuckled and shook her head softly. "Probably the most notorious drug dealers in all of east high. Literally everyone gets their shit from them, and I've had the pleasure of being extremely close to the two of them. We're practically family, so I get to hang out with them and shit at points." Rue explained, lilith listening carefully as soon as rue mentioned the words "drug dealers".

"So... do u think they'd sell anything to me?" Lilith asked, curiosity growing as she stared at rue intently.

"Uhhh how old are you?"

"Just turned 16 a few weeks ago."

"I don't know... probably? Fuck knows, you'll have to ask them yourself, but yeah probably since ash just turned 16 recently too." Rue said, before a loud ding dong sounded through the house, indicating the boys were there.

Rue and Lilith both got up, along with Lexi and another girl with dark brown straightened hair, and they all walked to the door to greet the guests.

"Hey lex!" Fez said with a lovesick grin on his face as he leaned in and pecked the brunettes lips. 

Lilith's eyes widened as she looked at rue, rue looking back at her too, and she wagged her finger at the two, as if to ask if they were a thing.

Rue leaned over and whispered, "they're not dating, but they're not just friends. Fez hasn't had the balls to ask her out yet."

The two girls snickered as everyone made their way back into the living room, two guys trailing behind them.

Lilith had failed to notice the smaller, younger looking boy in all the hubbub about Lexi and fezco.

The boy looked cold, disheartened by everything, kind of like he'd give literally anything to not be there at that point. He looked around him trying to ignore the annoying squealing and giggles around him and his brother, before his eyes caught onto Lilith's. He didn't recognise her at all, and that peaked his interest straight away.

Lilith stared at him for a few seconds before breaking eye contact and looking away awkwardly, clearing her throat.

The two of them didn't speak to each other until way into the evening, while everyone else was bustling around the house getting drinks and whatnot. Lilith was slumped in one of Suze's couches, with a cup full of a random alcohol in one hand, her other hand shoved in her pocket. She looked bored, literally nothing was entertaining her in that moment.

Ashtrays interest peaked even more at this, so he strolled over to the sofa and slumped down beside her, looking at her curiously.

She turned her hair and stared back at him, expecting him to speak, but he didn't. They just sat there. Awkwardly. Staring at each other, waiting for one or the other to actually say something.

"Are you just gonna sit there staring at me or are you actually gonna say something?" Lilith muttered, breaking the uncomfortable silence.

Ash raised his eyebrows, clearing his throat and looking away from her instantly. "Yeah.. um, I didn't recognise you, you new around here shawty?" He muttered casually as if he hadn't spent the last 3 minutes with his eyes fixated on her and only her.

The nickname slightly took her aback as it was literally the first words they'd ever said to each other, but she replied nonetheless. "Yeah, I just moved here today from New York." She mumbled, pulling her hand out of her pocket to play with her cup.

"Uh huh.. that's cool. You smoke weed?" He asked her, her nodding almost instantly before he pulled a blunt and a lighter out of his pocket, standing up and gesturing for her to go with him.

She took no time to stand up with him and walk through the house, out the back door past all their friends to the far end of the garden.

Neither of them spoke as ash lit the blunt and took a few drags, handing it over to Lils afterwards. She smiled a bit as a thankyou before taking a couple of drags herself.

The silence was now somehow comforting. They didn't need to talk, they were learning enough about each other by just standing there getting high without a care in the world.

As lilith got the last few drags of the blunt, she looked at him properly and smiled a bit. "You got some strong shit huh." She chuckled.

He scoffed a bit and shook his head. "Barely, you're just taking in more than u can handle."

She rolled her eyes, flicking away the end of it before strolling back inside casually.

Before everyone knew it, it was time for ashtray and fez to leave, along with all of Lexi and Cassie's friends.

Lilith smiled at all of them, saying goodbye without knowing any names apart from rue, and watched them all leave before trudging upstairs with her new roommates.

Fuck I'm exhausted, she thought, flopping onto her newly made bed and sighing as she plugged her headphones into her ears, jacking up the volume and clicking shuffle on her playlist before falling asleep.
