———————————————————————— Lilith Bevan sighed, slumping her suitcase down on the pavement next to her as she stared up at the house in front of her. She reached forward and knocked on the mahogany door, hard, before taking a step back and letting her hand fall limp by her side.
She clicked her teeth, waiting impatiently for someone to open the front door. She looked around her, taking in the surroundings of this new, CLEAN looking town. East Highland. She didn't want to be here, but hey, the name was fitting, right?
Suddenly the door in front of her flew open and she saw a middle aged looking woman, with messy brown hair and sunken but still pretty eyes with a huge, slightly lopsided grin.
"Oh my god Lilith!!! How good to see you, my I haven't gotten to see you since you were in diapers!" The woman, instantly recognised as Suze Howard, exclaimed, pulling Lilith into a tight hug much to the youngers dismay.
Lilith plastered on a fake smile and giggled haphazardly, nodding. "Yeah, aunt suze, wow it's been forever! I didn't even recognise you" she chuckled, instantly taking note of the reek of wine and cheap perfume coming from her distantly related aunt.
"Oh come on in! You must've been travelling for hours, right?" Lilith was about to protest and make a point that she'd only been on a train for an hour and walking for 30 minutes, but before she could even speak suze gently grabbed her by the wrist and took her large suitcase in her other hand, pulling both inside the house and slamming the door hard behind them.
"GIRLS!!" Suze shrieked up the stairs, making (a very high) Lilith jump on the spot. "Liliths here! Come and make her feel welcomed!"
Lilith heard the distant sound of shuffling and excited giggles upstairs, before a door flew open somewhere out of sight and two girls came bounding down the stairs in excitement.
"Oh my god Lils! It's been forever aaahhh!!!" The blonde of the two squealed, pulling lilith into a tight hug.
Lilith barely even remembered the girls name. Chloe? Casey? Oh!!! Cassie. That was it. Bingo, she thought as she awkwardly patted the older girls back in an attempt to 'hug' her.
Cassie then pulled away, leaving the brunette of the sisters to pull lilith into a gentler, calmer hug. One Lilith liked a bit more, but not much. She wasn't much of a hugger.
"Hey Lils, how have you been? I'm sorry that you've had to move away from home so suddenly." The brunette said softly, pulling away to give Lilith a reassuring smile.
Ahhhhh, Lexi. Lexi had always been Lilith's favourite of the two sisters, even thought she'd only spoken on the phone with the family once or twice and didn't remember anything from seeing them as an infant.
Lilith cleared her throat and smiled awkwardly, trying to get her thoughts together as she was overwhelmed with so many welcomes and smiles within 2 minutes of being in the household.
"Um, yeah! Hi, I'm okay, just tired, I guess?" Lilith muttered, trying her best to not slur or stumble on her speech whatsoever. She was high as shit, having smoked 2 or 3 blunts in the 30 minutes it took to walk from the train station to the Howard residence.
Lexi and Cassie clearly caught onto this very fast, and much to Lilith's luck, Suze not so much.
"Oh well, Lexi take Lilith up to your room and help her settle in, Cassie come and sort the living room out with me before the girls get here!" Suze squealed happily, before trotting off drunkly to fuck knows where with Cassie in hot pursuit.
Lilith just smiled even more awkward at Lexi. Oh my god this is gonna be horrendous I just wanna go hoommmmeeeeeeeee.
