After the second time of going back home, Jason hoped it would have been the last time he had to travel for a while, at least for a little bit anyway. The more he traveled the more tired and wore out he became. Riding a plane back and forth can drain a lot of energy out of a person, especially four times in a row in less than a few days.
Albeit, Jason Zoey, and Abby were already in the car and on their way back home. Abby was passed out in the back seat, her mouth was open. A tiny trail of saliva streamed out of the side of her bottom lip as she peacefully slumbered. While admiring the sleeping beauty, Jason slightly smiled at the sight.
Zoey craned her neck to the back to see the sight as well. "I feel so sorry for her." Zoey said, tucking her misplaced hairs behind her ear as she adjusted her comfort in the front seat. "I do too, she deserves so much better." Jason remarked.
"She deserves to live a life where she can be happy and have a normal family." Zoey gnawed on her bottom lip, tearing skin.
"A normal family? It seems like there is no such thing as a normal family nowadays... You see how I grew up, and how you grew up. We both have broken families. My mom beat the shit out of me, my dad was in jail my whole life... Your dad cheated on your mom when you were a little girl... if that's normal than I don't know what is Zoe..."
Jason had a point, but Zoey's family seems to be falling back together quite nicely.
"He is the reason why my family fell apart... and I don't think I will ever forgive him, even if he is trying to get back together with my mom."
Jason heaved a sigh out of his lips.
"You can't live your whole life holding a grudge, you have to forgive him one day and forget the past. I know what he did was horrible, but at least he didn't beat you guys... everyone makes mistakes, and sometimes... you are just going to have to look pass their mistakes and see how they have changed for the better."
Zoey rolled her eyes in annoyance. What Jason was saying was true, but Zoey didn't want to hear it.
"Jason, I appreciate your words, but... there is no way I am forgiving him for what he done." Jason clenched his jaw in and out.
"You forgave me didn't you? All he did was cheat on your mom... I threatened to kill you and your family... held you hostage, and almost raped you. You forgave me for that... why can't you just forgive your dad for making ONE mistake."
The sound of their loud conversation made Abby squirm in the seat. Jason and Zoey quieted their voices. They forgot Abby was even back there.
"Why do you care so much? I thought you hated my dad just as much as I did?" Zoey knitted her eyebrows together.
"Yes. I did fight him, but I only did that for you, I honestly couldn't give two shits about him, but I realized that forgiving is everything... even when you don't want to. My dad is in my life now, and I blamed him for all of those years, but I didn't know the whole story, so don't blame your dad for what he did... you don't even know the whole story." and that with that said... it ended the conversation.
Silence emitted in the car, the only sound you could hear was the sound of Abby's soft snores, and the wheels spinning on the gravel. An occasional sigh would emit from Jason's lips from boredom.
