In the cold sheltered room, Zoey laid holding her wrist. She was still out cold from passing out. For another hour in a half, her eyes ajar. Zoey clutched her wrist with her other hand and applied pressure.

“Why am I so stupid?” Zoey hissed under her breath. Zoey crawled into the corner of the room she was in before and grabbed Tahlia’s phone. She deleted the picture from the phone and weeped.

“I hate my life.” Zoey screeched. Tears were falling from  her eyes, streaming down to her cheek and dripping off of her chin. Zoey’s life changed drastically, she never thought in a million years she would be held hostage. Maybe God was punishing her for harming herself? Why would God punish her this way? Zoey grabbed the phone and held it into her fragile hands. She let out an audible breath and put the phone back into her pocket. She dragged her body into bed and cuddled with the comforter. She didn’t fall into a slumber, or shut her eyes. Zoey just lied awake in the bed and stared at the ceiling, thinking to herself. Flashbacks crossed her mind, making her emotional and wishing things were back to the way they used to be, but other flashbacks that weren’t so heartwarming flashed into her mind as well.

Zoey and her father were standing outside on the balcony of their house. She was wrapped in her fathers arms.

“I love you daddy.” Zoey said with a smile.

“I love you too babygirl.” Her dad remarked. He kissed her forehead and let his lips linger. “You are the best dad in the world.”

Her dad’s voice echoed in her head. She closed her eyes and held back her tears. It made her feel guilty of everything she had said to him. She regretted pushing him away.

Zoey, her mom and dad were standing in the kitchen of their house. Zoey’s mom was crying, leaning over the sink, with her arms holding her up and her head down.

“I’m sorry, I-I didn’t mean to do it, it was an accident!” Zoey’s dad exclaimed.

“You can’t just sleep with other women Jack, you are a married man, and I thought… I thought you loved me, I thought you loved the kids.” Zoey’s mom said with a quiver in her voice.

“I do! It was a mistake, I don’t even love her! I love you, Jane.” Zoey was peeking behind the door, listening to her mom and dads argument. She was only ten at the time, so she barely understood what was going on, but she knew it wasn’t good whatever it was. Zoey’s dad rubbed Zoey’s mom’s back, trying to calm her down. She pushed his hands away and bursted into tears.

“Get away from me, and get out of my house!” She yelled. Zoey’s eyes flooded with tears.

Tears covered Zoey’s face as she relived the flashback. She was a big daddy’s girl when she was younger, but that was only when she was younger, she loathes her father. When she was thirteen, her mother finally told her the truth about why they divorced. Zoey never felt the same about him.

“I hate you.” Zoey said with pure hatred. “I will never forgive you dad, stay out of my life… for good.”

Zoey could still see her father’s face when she said that to him. Flashbacks with her and her dad stayed into her mind. Finally she drifted off into a slumber, with tears drying on her face. After a few hours, Zoey woke. She couldn’t go back to sleep. She tossed and turned into the bed, but couldn’t get comfortable. Her wrist went numb, so she really didn’t feel anything anymore. She tossled out of bed and stumbled over to the window. Fog and the wetness of the air covered the outside of the glass. Droplets of water raced down to the bottom. She watched each one slide down to the bottom.  Zoey mumbled thoughts to herself so keep her sane.
