Chapter 14

Josh hasn't eaten anything since dinner last night and I'm starting to get worried. I mean I get it, he misses Laura and personally, after seeing that much blood, I wouldn't have much of appetite either.
"Hey Josh, you should really eat something." Nitro declared. "No girl is worth you starving yourself." Josh's cheeks turn bright red. Nitro is a mind reader!
"He's right, ya know." I chime in. He picks at his hot dog still not taking a bite.
"I SWARE JOSH, IF YOU DON'T EAT THE FRICKING HOT DOG I'LL SHOVE IT DOWN YOUR THROAT!" Howler yells from across the table.
"Oh really? Come at me breh!" Josh yells back. There's the Josh I know.

After joking around with the Monstercat Pack, (what I call the main group) I felt a little better. They can always cheer me up no matter how down I'm feeling. I excuse myself early so I can go to the garden and pick flowers for Laura.
"Hey Josh!" I turn to see Rebel jogging to catch up with me.
"Hey Rebel!" I yell back.
"Where are you going?" she asks, matching my strides.
"I might ask you the same question." I smirk.
"I asked first." I sigh.
"I was going to..." I trail off.
"WHAT!! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!" Rebel yells in my ear.
"I said 'I was going to go pick flowers to take to Laura.'" I explain, my cheeks growing red.
"AWWWWWWWWWWW!! That's so adorable! So that explains why Puppet came and got you first!" She exclaims, clapping her hands together.
"W-what?"
"Whatever Puppet said about the nurse was a lie. He could've gotten her, but he wanted you to come to her rescue."
"This is all so cliche." I mumble before walking into the garden, leaving Rebel to go about her business.

It been about six hours since the accident and Laura still hasn't woken up. I've been sitting on this uncomfortable stool for what seems like ages, just sketching and listening to Monstercat. My current project was of Haywyre, the man of my dreams. I've had a crush on him ever since I can remember, but if course I'll never be able to go to Monstercat to meet him. I hear a small groan from her bed and quickly get up, knocking over the stool by accident. It landed on the floor with a clatter.
"Oh my gods Laura, I'm so sorry!" I practically yell.
"It's ok Gwen! I needed to get up anyway. Some of my friends from Mostercat are coming this morning." I perk up.
"I-is Haywyre coming?" I ask, looking down at my feet.
"I don't k-" Laura was interrupted by a knock at the door.
"Come in!" She yells. The door swings open and the first person I notice is Haywyre standing towards the back of the 'crowd.' I right the stool and sit back down, taking out my sketchbook out, not wanting to come off as one of those creepy fangirls. I see Tut Tut Child, Danyka, and Howler among others. OMG! She's the chick that did the Tetris remix. I silently scream. THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!!

As we walk down the bright white hospital hallway, I wonder why I'm even here. I mean I'm sorta friends with Laura but not really. Josh was practically running down the hallway.
"Hey Josh, the sign says 'No Running.'" I exclaim, gesturing to the little sign posted on the wall. His cheeks flush red and I stifle a laugh. As we reach Laura's room, Nick knocks on the door.
"Come in!" Laura shouts. I hold the door open letting everyone else in first. I set my card on the bedside table and step back, so that the others could say hi to Laura. I watch this girl, who I can only assume is a friend of Laura's, sketching me. Damn, it's good.
"Nice drawing!" I exclaim. She looks up and nearly falls out of her chair. She is really pretty, with hazel eyes and short light brown hair that has streaks gold and red.
"I'm Haywyre." I say shaking her hand.
"Gwen." She answers pushing her glasses up her nose. We talked for fifteen minutes until I had to go.
"See ya around!" She yells as I leave.

Anyone catch the Percy Jackson Easter egg? Gwen is me in looks and personality just with a different name. You know, for privacy reasons...... Tut Tut Child is my first choice for a Monstercat crush but I didn't want to complicate things.
