Chapter 15

After visiting with Laura and Gwen, I head off to the dorm. It was transition period and the halls are dead. We have a game later today, and if the UFK kids are half as good as the rumors made them out to be, we are so dead. I grab my gym bag and the last Gatorade. I scribble down a note saying that I took the last Gatorade and that I'll buy more. Throttle is going to kill me. As I walk down the hallway, I spot Rogue and Howler talking together.
"Hey Rogue, why don't you just kiss her already!" I yell. His cheeks flush red and I start laughing.
"S-SHUT UP HAYWYRE!!!!"
"Awwwwww! You two are adorable! Hashtag Rowler for life!" I yell. Rogue lunges at me and I grab him in a headlock.
"Admit that it's true and I'll let you go!" I yell tightening my grip a little.
"NEVER!" Rogue yells, struggling against my grip.
"Really guys?!" Howler exclaims, unfolding her wings a little.
"What are you two doing?" I turn around and to my horror see Principal Monstercat standing next to Howler.
"Um. I-" I release Rogue.
"I never want to see you do that again. Actions like that can and will get you kicked off the team. This is your only warning."
"Yes sir." I answer looking down at the floor.
"I want all of you on your best behavior because we have three new students are joining us today." he brushed pash me, his tail swishing from side to side.
"God that was scary!" I exclaim turning to Rogue and Howler.
"You should've seen the look on your face, it was priceless!" Howler laughs.
"I think he's just pissed because he knows we're gonna get crushed by UFK again." Rogue says.
"You never know, this could be our year." I say, shrugging my shoulders. The bell rings for next class.
"Crap! I'm going to be late for practice. See ya guys!" I wave as I sprint down the hall.
(JoshPOV)
"MY BROTHER IS COMING TODAY!!" I yell as I slam open the dorm door.
"Is that a bad thing?" Nitro asks as he sets down his stuff.
"YES! IT'S HORRIBLE!! HE IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND-"
"Josh, be quiet!" Nick exclaims clapping a hand over my mouth. I take a deep breath.
"I think you made my ears bleed." G230 grumbles as he grabs a soda from the fridge.
"Sorry. I'm just really nervous because Glitch looks up to me and I'm afraid I'll screw up and then there's the fact that he's annoying." I explain.
"We all make mistakes." Drop puts in. I shrug my shoulders. He's right. There was a light knock on the door.
"Hey Josh, your brother's here." It was Principal Monstercat. He seemed sort of aggravated for some reason. As we enter the office, I spot Glitch chatting with the girl from the hospital and another girl I didn't recognize.
"Hey bro!" I yell. He runs up to me and wraps me in a hug.
"I missed you!" He exclaims. I smile. I really did miss his hugs.
"How are Mom and Dad?" I ask, kind of afraid to hear the answer. They weren't exactly close anymore. His eyes brimmed with tears. I pulled him into hug.
"D-dad left and Mom hasn't been the same. T-that's why she sent me here because she doesn't want me anymore." He sobs into my shoulder. It hard seeing my fourteen year old brother cry.
"What? Glitch, that's why you think she sent you here? You have amazing talent and it just happened that Mom and Dad broke up. It wasn't your fault, I promise." I felt horrible. I wish I was there so we could take the problem on together. I introduce myself to the other two. Piper was about thirteen with sandy blonde hair, braces and glasses. She seemed wise and her personality was amazing! I didn't catch the other girl's name before Monstercat sent Glitch and I out of the office.
"I heard you're staying with Throttle Haywyre and Noisestorm. They're an amazing bunch."
"Really?!" He seemed to perk up at this new development.
"Yep! Noisestorm is the quarterback and Haywyre is the running back."
"AWESOME!!" He was acting like his old self again.
