A/N This chapter is where I try something different in the plot and it kinda violates my own rule which is not to add like "weird or fantasy" stuff into the fanfic. I wanted to keep the book pretty normal, (I mean like not any supernatural things or crossovers, etc). But in order for the story to continue, I kinda need to do that. So bear with me in the next couple of chapters and lemme know if it's okay for me to continue.
Ben
I awoke to a throbbing headache, I slowly opened my eyes and saw the rough outline of a room. I was lying on what looked like a mattress. I gradually lifted myself out of my bed getting a better view of the room. It was a grey concrete wall with multiple cracks and parts of the wall looked like someone had taken a hammer and smashed it into it repeatedly. The floor was covered in glass and half-burnt cigars, which was a problem because I currently was not in possession of shoes. "Looking for these?" A voice said. I turned and found Mike holding up a pair of black sneakers. "Mike!" I said happy to see a familiar face. He gave me a half-smile but he looked troubled. "What's wrong?" I asked. He handed me my sneakers and replied, "Follow me."
Mike took me along what appeared to be old subway tracks. We didn't speak once until we arrived. I was brought into the center of the subway which looked like it had been converted into a temporary base. The walls were filled with pictures of news articles, military bases, and other top-secret information. There were multiple laptops and hardware scrambled across the floor, they contained lots of information that I didn't understand. "Ben!" An excited voice shouted. Erica Hale quickly engulfed me in a tight hug. We stayed like that for quite some time and I felt safe there. With Erica I felt like nothing bad could ever happen, nothing in the world made me feel this way except Erica. Erica, unfortunately, pulled away and faced me. "Are you okay?" She asked examining every inch of my body which made me feel a bit creeped out. "Mostly okay, I just have a splitting headache," I responded. Her face dropped and she quickly responded "What do you mean headache?" I responded puzzled, "I have a headache, what's wrong with that?" "You may have a concession or amnesia." She replied. "If I had amnesia then why can I remember everything?" I asked blatantly. She rolled her eyes and walked toward the center of the room. "So what exactly happened and why are we in a subway, and where are the others?" The question had been on my mind ever since I was woken up. Erica shared a knowing glance with Mike sighed, and then responded, "Ben, someone fired a missile at the carrier we were on. We don't know who but whoever did it failed. We were flown back to land where we were sent to the hospital but our car got hijacked and I managed to escape with you and Mike." She choked a sob and continued, "They took Jawa, Grandad, and Chip. "
I stood there in silence for what felt like years absorbing all this information. I finally sat down and began thinking of ideas or possibilities as to why they were taken. Eventually, I stood up and said "We're gonna get them back. No matter the cost."
