The cold air pressed against my face as Erica and I plunged into the darkness of the tunnel ahead of us.
Neither of us had said a thing since the explosion. My mind kept going back to Erica saying she wanted to tell me something. "Erica what did you want to tell me earlier?" Erica stopped and her shoulders tensed. She looked at me in despair, something I thought I'd never see from her.
Erica's POV
My mind was divided, like two sides of a war, fighting over something. That something was Benjamin Ripley. One side of my brain believed relationships were a liability in the spy game. The other side believed relationships could be assets and even more than that. My head was splitting and I didn't know what was right. Should I betray everything my grandfather taught me to do and shut out my emotions? Or stop pretending that you don't like Ben? "Ben, I- I wanted to tell you thanks for opening me up to friendship. NO! Why didn't you tell him?! "Oh ok, no problem Erica." He looked disappointed but tried to give a half-hearted smile. We approached the end of the tunnel.
Ben's POV
Erica was lying to me. Normally someone lying to you would make you mad but in Erica's case, it made me sad. I suspected she wanted to tell me how she felt about me but couldn't bring herself to. I felt excitement at the possibility of this and sadness due to the fact that she wouldn't admit it. As we approached the end of the tunnel one thing became clear to me, I needed to focus on the task at hand not on whether Erica likes me or not. We exited the tunnel ad arrived at what looked like a normal suburban neighborhood. "Where are we?" I asked. Erica didn't respond and kept walking. After a while of us walking in silence, she spoke. "We're somewhere safe." We stopped at a two-story brick house with a green SUV parked outside. "Is this your house?" I asked amazed. She raised her eyebrow "Why does this surprise you?" "Well, I thought It wouldn't be this.." "Normal?" She finished looking at me in a seriously? face. We walked up the front steps and Erica gasped as she fell to the ground. "ERICA!" I shouted as I ran over to her. I saw a sedation dart injected into her. Then the world started spinning and everything turned black.
I wrote this in my school's library lol. Thanks to my 51 viewers lol I never imagined I'd get more than like 25 lol. If we hit 100 I'll do a face reveal? Idk My face pretty ugly ngl.
