After I left the boys' house, I stopped at Julia's nail salon she works at. When I walked through the door, she immediately saw me. "Hey, girl! Nail gel?" She asked me, already knowing my answer. I nod and take a seat at her station as she pulled out all of the gel, brushes, and filers. "Madelyn told me about Jesse," Julia said, sounding a bit glum.

     "Which part?" I retort.

"Him leaving. Where'd he go?" She asked as she took my hand and began filing my nails.

"California," I told her. She nodded.

"I thought it was New York." I chuckle at her.

"That's 'cause you're obsessed with New York, Jules!" I said. Julia nodded and chuckled. "How's business in here?" I ask her. She just nodded.

"It's been way up actually!" She said. I then heard the door open.

"Which is a first!" The voice said. I turn around to see Madelyn and her boyfriend Antonio. I rolled my eyes and looked at Antonio.

"How much did you pay her to say that?" I asked, rhetorically. He faked a laugh and I laughed myself as they walked towards the station.

"How are you holding up?" Madelyn asked me, hugging me lightly before moving to her sister. Antonio knelt down and hugged me as well, kissing my cheek as I did the same.

"Actually, not as bad," I told her.

"How long has he been gone?" Tonio asked me.

"About eight hours," I told him.

"You would think he'd be there by now, but this is England and that's the U.S," Jules said. I nod.

"It's weird cause it seems closer than it sounds, but not." Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Weren't you guys supposed to go back home to Ireland in like three months or so?" Maddie asked as she sat down next to her sister.

"We were supposed to but he had to put it on hold."

"Well, that's not fair to you," Antonio said. I turn my head and looked at him. "It's for your birthday, isn't it?" I nodded. "You should be able to still go. Your family misses you. Your mom, dad, your brothers-" Antonio cut himself off and I looked down. I cleared my throat. "I-I am so sorry, Kayla! I didn't mean to-"

      "It's fine! Really." I said.

"You sure?" He asked. I nodded.

"I know you hate this topic, but how come you never met your brother. How come Greg hasn't filled you in when he was visiting you or showed you pictures?" Julia asked. I just shrugged. I ask myself that every day.

"No idea. It's like we're both forbidden and we can't know each other."

"It's your other half...literally!" Madelyn said. The three of us chuckled.

     "I know right!" I said.

"You should be able to know the other half of you. You're only one person!" Antonio said.

"As her other half is running around somewhere, probably asking the same thing!" Jules said. I laughed at that.

"You would think when I turned sixteen, I'd meet him. I'm almost twenty and I still haven't met him." Antonio shook his head.

"Maybe he's a god!" He said. I chuckled, rolling my eyes.

"Yes Toni, Kayla's brother is god. Guess that makes her a goddess!" Julia said. I rolled my eyes as we all laugh.

"You guys are so dumb sometimes!"
