It was 6 in the morning and I had taken Jesse to the airport. As we were at the airport waiting for his plane call, we just talked about random stuff. "Maybe for my birthday, I'll come down to see you!" I tell Jesse. He nods.

"I'd feel like it's my own birthday!" He shined a smile at me and I laugh. He hands me the keys to the car we share. "I won't need these anymore." He said. I look at my hand and saw the apartment key.

"You will need this one," I said, giving him back the house key. He smiled and gripped the key in his hand.

"Are you sure you're okay with this?" I nod. "Are you gonna be okay on your own?" I hesitate to nod, but I do. I honestly don't know if I will be. I didn't have a nightmare last night so hopefully, I will be okay for the time being.

"I'll be fine, Jess. The boys are only twenty minutes away and Julia is down the hall." I remind him. He nods.

"Okay, I just feel like I'm leaving you in a handful." He said, a sound of guilt in his tone.

"It's my problems, Jess, you're worried about. Really, I'll be fine." I reassure him. We hear his call over the intercom. We look up at the ceiling, for where the voice came from. "Come on, let's get you to the plane." He nods. I grab his duffel and he grabs his suitcase and we stand up, walking to the steps.

That walk was actually longer than I thought. But we eventually made it. We got to the stairs and go up and find his door. "There it is." He said, sounding nervous. He's nervous? Why?

"Go on!" I say, handing him his duffel back. He puts it on his suitcase and looks at me.

"Be careful!" He tells me. I nod and he pulls me in a hug. "Take care of yourself, love!" Jesse scratched the center of my neck with his fingers and I close my eyes at the last comfort we were gonna have.

"Always!" I said, my voice breaking as he squeezes me. "Be careful on that ride, alright! Call me when you land." He nods.

"I love you, Kayla." He whispers in my ear. We break and he holds my hand.

"I love you too, Jesse." I grin, my eyes watering. He kisses my forehead. "Go on!" I said, giving him a slight push. He takes a breathe, rubbing my hand with his thumb.

He lets go, grabs his case, and walks to the door. He hands the flight attendant his passport. He turns to me one more time and waves to me. I smile, taking my hand out of my jacket pocket, waving back. He smiles and turns back around, walking through the door all the way. I close my eyes and take a breath, before turning around, walking back to the stairs.

I grab my phone and check the time as I go down. I really don't feel like being alone this time. I needed some comfort from someone.

As I got to the bottom of the stairs, I walk back to the front of the port, walking out the door. I go to my car, getting in. I take Jesse's car keys out of my pocket and look at it as a tear falls from my cheek. I wipe it, placing the keys in the glove compartment.

I turn on the car and drive out of the parking lot, back home. As I'm at a stoplight, I change my mind and keep heading straight until I pass the recording studio. I take a few turns before seeing the boys' home.

I head up the road and see their car is gone. But to be fair, they only drive one vehicle, unless they have their tour bus that's parked at some headquarters. I park the car and look out at the door. I turn off the car. I turn and see the bag of Harry's sister's clothes. I reach and grab the bag and get out of my car, shutting the door. I push back the strand of hair from my face behind my hair, my ponytail flowing with the wind.
