(Liam's POV)

It was late and it was hard but we managed to finish the song. Kayla takes a breath and sits back in her chair. I put her book down and grab my jacket that fell off my lap.

"That was great!" Kayla said. I smile.

"You wrote a great song!" I say. She smiles at me.

"Thanks. And thank you for helping me write that." I nod.

"It's the least I could do since you helped us the chorus of Night Changes." She nods.

"And you're only on what, album three?" I nod. "Is that going on the album?" I shrug.

"I'm not quite sure. If we finish it on time. But our deadline for our album is soon so I doubt it." She nods. I look at my watch. "Well, I should get going." She nods after sitting up. Kayla walks to me and grips me in a hug and we walk out.

     "Thanks for staying, Liam."

"Of course love." We get to the door and stop. "Are you gonna be alright?" She nods again.

"I've got Jesse, the bodyguard, I'll be fine." She said. I chuckle.

"THAT'S THE BEST BODYGUARD TO YOU! USE THE WHOLE TITLE!" He screams from his room. Kayla chuckles and goes to open through the door. I point to where we heard Jesse's voice.

"He's very territorial." Kayla agrees as her eyes go wide, nodding in agreement. I laugh. "Goodnight."

"Night!" She closes the door and I walk to the elevator. I grab my phone and call Zayn.

"Hey, where've you been, mate?" He asked.

"I've been at Kayla's apartment. With those dirtbags knowing where she lives, I don't want to risk anything."

"Leaving her alone at her apartment at night is risky." I close my eyes and chuckle.

"She has a roommate. It's fine." I reassure him.

"We've just been worried for you two."

"If you guys have been worried about Kayla, why not text her?" I suggest, walking out of the elevator. He chuckles.

"I think they forgot." I laugh and head to the doors.

"Well, I'm about to leave so I'll see you soon." The line went dead and I get in my car, leaving the building after some hesitation.

(Kayla's POV)

I walk back to my room, changing into sweats and a short white tank top. I grab my opened songbook that Liam left on my desk in the sound booth I like it to call it.

There was something written at the top in the corner of the paper. I walk out of the room to the living room, sitting on the couch, reading his little note.

Who's the best songwriter?

Kayla's the best writer!

Who's lucky to have her as a best friend?

Jesse's lucky for his best friend!

I smile at that and saw a small heart by the end of the page. I close the book, setting it next to me. Jesse comes out of his room and sits on the white chair. "Hey!" He said. I look up at him. "Uh oh, you've got that smile on your face. What happened?" Jesse asked with a grin on his face. I roll my eyes and chuckle.
