Chapter 27

  "I can talk to Antonio. I'm sure he wouldn't mind." I shake my head at Maddie's request. 

     "No, really. It's fine. I'll figure something out." I tell her. "Besides, I have another offer up my sleeve with the boys," I tell her and Jules. 

     "You haven't taken it?" I shake my head. "Why not? You have nowhere to go." Jules asked. I shrug at her. 

     "I don't know. I guess it's just that they do so much for me already, what am I supposed to do in return?" I tell them. 

     "Why not just produce a song for them?" Madelyn said. 

     "Exactly!" 

      "Guys, with the way my career is, do you really think that I could come out with a good song?" 

      "Girl! You produced a Beyonce song!" Jules reminded me. "I don't wanna hear it!" I laugh and Madelyn does as well. 

      "Well, they did offer it," I tell them. "But I might just take them up on that offer." 

       "Both of them?" 

       "Fine, mom! I'll do both of them!" I told Maddie after rolling my eyes. She smiled at me.

       "Cause I know you don't want to go home to your dad," Jules said. I nod. 

      "Yeah, we're way past that!" I said. As time went by, the girls left just as Liam came back in. "Hey, I thought you left with the others," I said as he walked to the chair by my bed. 

      "I did, but I thought I could pick up your spirit." He said. I gave him a confused look when I suddenly heard a guitar as he started singing.

     Niall walks in with a guitar and the boys behind him. My favorite on the album! 

Heartbeats harder

     Harry comes in as they circle the bed. Louis on my left with Zayn next to him. Harry by the foot of the bed, Niall on the right next to Liam who is the closest to me.

     A tear falls from my eye as Louis takes me hand and wipes the tear away. This song is one of my favorite songs and it means a lot that they did this for me. 

     I smile as Zayn starts the bridge. 

Flashing lights in my mind

     I get chills as Zayn hits his perfect note.

     I try my beat and join in on the last line. They all smile at me and Niall puts the guitar down. "Thanks for that guys!" I said.  

     "Now tell me it didn't work!" Liam teased. I chuckled at him. 

     "That's one of my favorite songs. Or did you guys already know that?" I joked. They laughed. 

     "We thought we could miss a day of scheduling for you, love," Zayn said. I gave him a soft smile. 

      "You guys are the best!" I said. "I love you guys!" 

     "We love you too!" Niall said, placing his hand on my ankle. 

     "Kayla...this may not be the best time to tell you this..." Harry said after a moment. "Because of the crack on your award, I just tossed it." For as much as that hurts, I'm glad he did. Because I don't want to look at that plaque forever and see what my career went down as.

      Nodding at Harry, I gave him the approval. "Although it stings, I'm glad you did," I said. "It was destroyed anyway," I said. Just like my career. "So, thank you." Harry nodded and winked approvingly. 

     After an awkward silence, I began to get tired as the guys left for something. When they returned, my eyes were shut. I then felt a hand sneak into mine and the guitar playing again.

      I open my eyes and smile. How do they do this? Play all my favorites! Goodness! Liam must have gone through my lyric book! 

     He then began his part.

     Niall continued playing his strings as Louis and Harry come in with their part.

      My body feels warm as Harry sings my favorite line. After the chorus, Niall begins his part which brings the smile back to my face.

     Singing the last line with them, Niall puts the guitar down. "I don't know how you do it!" I said, laughing. They laughed and Niall smiled at me. 

     "We're just that good!" 

     "Does this mean you'll come and live with us?" Louis asked, hopefully. I can't back down now. There's no reason for not doing that. And if they sing to me any more of my favorites, it's a win-win for me. 

     Laughing at myself, I nod. "Yes, I'll come and stay with you!" Harry, Louis, and Niall jumped up in joy as Zayn and Liam smiled at me.
