Liam turns the corner from the recording studio and there was an apartment building. "This one it?" He asked, pointing his finger at the bricked building. I nod, humming my answer of yes. He took a turn into the car park and stopped the car.
"Would you like to come up?" I asked him. He shrugged and took off his seat belt. I grabbed my bag, stepping out of the car. We closed the doors and walked to the doors. I pulled open the door and held it open for Liam after me. I pushed out through the last door, walking into the lobby. Liam looked star-struck and I couldn't help but chuckle.
I turn as he stands in the middle, looking up at the ceiling. I walk backward. "Room's this way!" I said. He looked at me and ran to me, realizing how far back he was. I smile, trying not to laugh again. "Beautiful huh?" I said, opening the elevator.
"Not as beautiful as..." his last word was mumbled as he turned his head to look back out into the lobby. I look at him.
"Pardon?" I say, asking for a repeat. He turns around and faces me. He shakes his head.
"Nothing." He said. I nod in confusion. Just in time, the elevator door opens and I walk in.
"Come on, dream boy!" I say. I yank his jacket and he comes stumbling in. I laugh as I hit the floor button and the door shuts.
"Okay, that's just not nice!" Liam scolds, fixing his jacket.
"It was a little bit funny," I said, hiding my laugh again. He smirks.
"Maybe just a little." He mumbles quietly and I laugh. He shakes his head and starts laughing as well. The door opens to the floor and we step out walking down the hall to my room. I grab my key from the pocket of my backpack. The door opens.
"And this is my home!" I said, letting him in first. He steps in but stops. I walk in after him. He looks at the living room. "You like?" I ask him, chuckling at his reaction again. He swallows and nods. I keep him moving but the lights were dim. Oh, why did this have to happen?
(Liam's POV)
The lights suddenly were dim as we walked into her home farther. She groans. We walk past a wall and there was a man sitting on a stool, back to us, and what seemed to be candles lit.
This is the world
He repeated. I look confused. I turn to Kayla. "What is he doing?" I ask, whispering. She shakes her head.
"Don't ask." She said. "JESSE!" She shouts. The man screams and the stool falls backward off its legs. My eyes widen as he hits the ground and the impact of his back hitting the carpet. I lift my eyebrows.
He stands up. "You need to stop doing that!" He yelled.
"You need to stop your shrine for Peace on Earth!" She answers. I squint in confusion.
"Well," I said. Kayla looks up at me. "Sorry I did," I said, referring to me asking.
"Jess, this is Liam. I work at the studio with him. Liam, this is my roommate, Jesse." She introduces. He comes my way and shakes my hand.
"Nice to meet you." He said.
"Cheers," I said, which was oddly my greetings toward new people. Which is weird cause I didn't do that to Kayla. Kayla walks more into the house and I follow her. We take a turn to a small room. She sets her bag down. "I didn't know you had a roommate," I said, sitting on the wooden chair.
"Neither did I!" She replied. I give her a look.
"What?" I ask, mid-laugh.
"He's been my best friend since forever. I was living alone. But after the whole "following home" fiasco started, he came to live with me so I wouldn't feel as if I was being hunted." She explains.
