LUX'S POV

The two girls sat in silence as Lux cleaned Vi's face. lux saw the way Vi looked at Caitlyn, she couldn't help but be jealous of what they had.

"I see the way you look at her."

"Look at who?" Vi asked.

"Don't play dumb, I can help if you want." Lux giggled.

"Last time I checked you and... Powder's relationship seems... I don't know. Toxic." Vi said.

Lux let out a scoff.

"You don't know anything about me." Lux said.

"Well I-" Vi was cut off.

"You don't know Jinx, the life she's been put through, the life I've been put through. You know nothing."

Lux finished cleaning Vi's face and got up to walk to the bathroom.

"She never blamed you for leaving. I just thought you needed to know that." Lux said as she closed the door to the bathroom behind her.

Lux walked towards the sink and slammed her hands down on the ceramic surface. Tears began streaming down her face picking up the dirt as they trailed down her cheeks.

Lux had a knot building up in her throat. The kind of knot that doesn't stop building, consuming, tearing you apart. Lux was so held up in the moment when she tried to take a breath she couldn't. Her airways were blocked. Each breath she tried to take the less and less Lux could take in air.

Lux fell to the ground knocking over a glass in the process. She trembled at the cuts she now had on her arm. Everything was going black, blue, pink. Lux felt a soft warmth holing her, shaking her, slapping her.

Slapping her?

It all came back. Lux breathed a deep breath in as her eyes shot wide open. It was Vi, holding her.

"Lux, are you okay?" Vi asked repeatedly.

"I'm fine, thank you." Lux said as she pulled herself out of Vi's arms as she stood up.

Lux ignored Vi as she walked into Caitlyn's room then out into the hallway to her room, she noticed Vi following her. She kept walking towards her room, she grabbed some supply's and threw it all in a bag.

"Where are you going?" Vi asked.

"Why do you care?" Lux said.

"Because, you're injured you can't be going places in this condition." Vi urged.

"Look Jinx is still out there I need to get back to her. I can't just leave her alone." Lux said as she walked towards Vi.

"I can tell you're holding something back, not from me but from Caitlyn. The weight of it is causing you pain. Just promise me one thing, you need to be honest with her." Lux smiled and walked Vi back to Caitlyn's room.

"Just stay here in the mean time, tell Caitlyn I'm going to see Viktor, she'll understand." Lux said as she waved Vi off and teleported back to Jinx's room.

Jinx's room was empty, silent there was no one there. Lux scrambled around through her room throwing things around and breaking stuff.

"Jinx!" Lux screamed out.

But there was no reply. Lux left the Cannery and headed to the last drop to find Silco.

Lux was now at the last drop. Lux was getting stares from strangers, she looked tired and the black streaks down her face didn't help her look any better. Lux barged into Silco's office.

"Where is she?" Lux yelled.

Silco wasn't there, but Sevika was.

"Who?" Sevika asked.

"Jinx. I can't find her." Lux begged.

"I don't give a shit about that mole rat." Sevika scoffed.

Lux rolled her eyes and stunned Sevika with her light magic. Lux slowly walked over to her, the silence so quiet she could hear the tapping of her heals on the wooden floor.

"I said. Where is she?" Lux said glaring into her eyes.

"Silco went to find her. There was an explosion, on the bridge." Sevika said as she groaned in pain.

"See it wasn't that hard." Lux giggled and stunned Sevika one more time.

"That was for lying to Jinx and I. Ba bye now!" Lux said as she gave out a cheesy grin and teleported herself to the bridge.

VI'S POV

Vi waited patiently on the bed for Caitlyn to return. Thoughts rushing through her mind and the words of a blonde repeating over and over.

You need to be honest with her.

Vi knew she was right but it was hard for her to open up. If anything prison taught her doing just that was the difference between life or death.

Caitlyn entered the room bandaged up with a new tone on her face.

"We'll present our case to the Council tonight." Caitlyn said as her eyes widened.

"You did all this yourself. Without even going down there!" Vi said pointing towards the case board laid out across Caitlyn's bedroom floor.

"And I thought Powder could get obsessed." Vi giggled.

"What happened to her, it's not your fault." Caitlyn said in a soft tone.

Caitlyn waited a few seconds before following up the conversation.

"Where did Lux go?" Caitlyn asked.

"She said she was heading out to find Victor." Vi said.

"Oh okay." Caitlyn said as she laid down onto the bed.

Just start with something simple.

"Before my parents died, I spent my entire life chasing my own monsters away and promising Powder I would protect her." Vi said softly.

"But when a real monster showed up, I just ran away. I left her." Vi said dropping her gaze from Caitlyn's eyes.

Caitlyn didn't say a single word she just stroked Vi's face softly. Vi in turn grabbed onto her hand.

"Can I trust you with something, Cupcake?" Vi asked gazing back up into Caitlyn's eyes.

"Anything!" Caitlyn replied.

"I've been in prison since before I could remember. It changed me. Weakened me, toughened me up. Drowned me of my emotions. I was never able to-" Vi's voice shuttered.

"I've never done anything with anyone before. I'm a-" Vi couldn't get it out but Caitlyn knew what she meant.

"Vi, you really think I care wether you're experienced or not. I mean I could kinda tell from the kiss but I don't care about that." Caitlyn said softly.

"Y- you don't?"

"Of course I don't, how about I show you a few things." Caitlyn said as she gave a little wink to Vi.
