17. Long Distance(Javon)

You and Javon had been FaceTiming everyday for the past two months. You guys were really happy but you both always felt like something was missing. Javon would always talk about how he wanted to see you irl again but you could barely afford the tickets to SneakerCon let alone more plane tickets to Atlanta. Besides, it's not like you could leave your hometown anyways because you had state exams coming up and your mom was against traveling during the school year. You never told Javon this though, you didn't want him to feel bad for you or guilty that he didn't take your financial situation into consideration. On the other side of it, Javon was so busy with interviews and school that he couldn't fly out and it's not exactly convenient to fly 6 people out to y/s.

You both enjoyed talking to each other over the phone it's just you wish you could hug each other and hold hands and do the things that couples do. Javon wanted to meet your parents and friends and everyone else in your life in real life and not over FaceTime or text. He hated having to "leave" you if the service was bad or dicey. Javon realized he couldn't take anymore of this so he hatched a plan(Bold is Javon, Regular is his parents):
"Mom, dad, can we go to (y/s)?"
"Isnt that where y/n lives?"
"Yeah that's why I wanna go. I miss her"
"Javon we would but you have so many press meetings and interviews coming up plus you have a match in a month. We didn't even account for school. And what about Jaden? He has a baseball tournament coming up, he can't miss school or practice right now."
"Exactly, the boxing match is in a month, I can do school online and what if Jayla watches Jaden and Daelo? We would only be out there for like a few days. 4 max, I just really miss her and I wanna see her again."
"Okay Javon. Ask your sister if she can watch Jaden and Daelo."
"Thanks mom and dad!"
Javon left with a smile on his face. He couldn't wait to see you. He thought about it for a while before deciding that he was gonna surprise you. He would fly out, meet up with you and take you on a date before telling you that he loves you. He was so excited that he could barely sleep that night.
Javon needed some more details about your school and your schedule so he can better plan the date. He researched your town so he could see some fun date ideas and he called you so he can get your schedule(Bold is Javon and you're regular):
"Hey what time do you get out of school?"
"Why?"
"Because I wanna know"
"You always wanna know something"
"That's why they call me Wanna."
"I guess so haha"
"I think I get out at 3:00 but I don't get home until 3:45 if my mom is driving me because we like to go to the store or go to Dunkin after school."
"Okay cool."
"Can I ask why you're asking me all of this?"
"No reason; I just wanted to know"

You forgot all about this encounter and a couple of days had passed. You and Javon kept talking but his questions were getting a bit more personal:
"What do you do when you get home?"
"What's your favorite flower"
"What's your favorite color"
"What's Y/b/f(your best friends) number?"
"What's your moms number?"

You told him all of this information over the course of a few days. He looked like he was taking notes when you told him all of this:
"Im Just taking notes for class"
"Which class?"
"History"
"Oh okay"

The Friday started off regular, you went to school, saw your friends and went to your classes.  The bell was just about to ring when you got a text from Javon:
"Hey I have a surprise for you"
You felt giddy and like a little girl again. You thought you knew what it was but you decided to keep it to yourself. You went to your locker and left school to see your moms car. When you got there, it looked like the passenger's seat was taken. You looked closer and saw Javon:
"Hey, beautiful"
"Omg I missed you so much!"

He got out of the car and engulfed you in a hug. You were so happy to see him. You both made conversation while your mom had a smirk on her face. She must've knew about this for a while.
You got back home and Javon told you about your date. He was gonna take you to a local park, have dinner and than give you a promise ring. Of course, he didn't tell you all of this; he told you about the park but not the dinner or the ring. He had just recently gotten his permit so he drove you to the local park. Everything was going great, he had set everything up, and put the ring in his pocket. You two made light conversation before he pulled out the ring:

"I know that can't always see each other and it's really shitty but hopefully this ring can make up for me not being with you. I also wanted to tell you this in person, um, I love you, Y/n. So much. I've literally cried because I've missed you so much and I can't be with you."

You started tearing up:

"Javon I love you so much. I've loved you for so long. Omg. The ring is really beautiful too"

He put the ring on you and kissed you. You realized that you had the best boyfriend in the entire world.
