"You're going away for a week?" Anya asked Giles. "That's great!"

"I'm gonna throw a rager with all my friends," Kitty claimed, a big smile on her face.

"You don't have any other friends," Teddy reminded her.

"Um, there's Blondie Bear, and Harm, and Clem, and Willy—"

"Under no circumstances should any of those four step into the apartment while Teddy and I are away," Giles said sternly.

The entire gang was sitting in the Magic Shop, and Giles was getting ready to leave for the airport with Teddy. He was meant to go meet the Watchers Council to discuss Glory. It was also a good chance for Teddy to see how the Council actually ran things. Kitty was a little jealous that he got to go on a field trip, but Giles reminded her that it'd be boring with long meetings and lots of books, so she quickly stopped complaining.

"Still," Anya said, smiling. "It's exciting."

"Yes, yes, everybody seems delighted about it," Giles said, sighing.

"Well, I get to run the store, right?" she asked.

Giles looked at Anya in alarm, not having thought about that. "You? Ah, w-well, it's quite a lot for one person to take care of. Well, I-I mean, the trash men, for example, I mean, they, they, they've been making such a mess in the back alley, the recycling people can't get in there to collect. Well, somebody has to talk to them."

"I can take care of that," Anya told him, not picking up on his subtle hints that she wouldn't be good at that.

"I'm envious, Mr. Giles," Tara spoke up. "A trip to England sounds so exciting and exotic. Unless... you're English." Giles smiled in amusement.

"Look, don't worry about the shop," Buffy told him. "We'll take care of it. We can open and close, and, and we'll deal with everyone."

"We can come by between classes!" Willow offered, ignoring the frown on Anya's face. "Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens, but it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know, insane."

"I said 'quirky,'" Tara corrected.

"No, insane is right," Kitty muttered, eying Willow. She was glad she didn't go to college.

"Hello, I work here! I'll take care of everything," Anya said, clearly annoyed.

"Yeah, Anya can do it!" Xander said enthusiastically without looking up from his book.

"Thanks, sweetie," she said, patting his shoulder. "Well said."

But Giles still wasn't comfortable. "Um, Anya, while, while I completely trust you uh, uh, to take care of the inventory and the money, um, dealing with people requires a certain, uh, finesse."
