"This is the worst day of my life," Kitty whined. "I'm gonna die. This one action has killed me."

Giles sighed at her dramatics. "Kitty, I only took a suitcase out of the closet."

"You took a suitcase out because you're leaving again!" she exclaimed, crossing her arms. "I heard you sing all about Buffy relying on you too much. I mean, can't you tell her to parent Dawn on her own and still be her Watcher? We need a Watcher."

"You have your brother," he reminded her.

"Ugh," she groaned. "Yeah, I guess."

"I'm literally right here," Teddy spoke up from the couch where he was reading a book. "But yeah, we don't want you to leave, even if we understand why."

"I mean, really," Kitty continued to complain. "That first goodbye was gut-wrenching. I cried in the shower for an hour afterward. You're gonna put me through that again? I'm a delicate flower, G."

"Well, I imagine it'll be a little easier the second time around," Giles said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "And I promise not to leave without a goodbye this time... Flower."

Kitty sighed and leaned her head on his chest. "Are you at least gonna help move all my stuff into your room?"

Giles pat her head. "Absolutely not."

"Sorry that I can't stay tonight," Kitty said to Spike. They were walking hand in hand through the cemetery toward his crypt after a night at Willy's.

"'S alright," he said, shrugging. "Got to fit in time with gramps before he leaves again."

"Don't call him gramps," she said, laughing. "He's sensitive about his age."

"Yeah, cause he's ancient."

Kitty raised an eyebrow. "And you're what? A fresh-faced twenty-year-old?"
