"Spike, I have to get to the Magic Box."

"And I'm not stopping you from leaving."

"Well, you're making it... difficult."

Kitty could feel his smirk form against her skin. "You know us vampires — love to make things difficult," he said before continuing his assault on her neck.

Only a day had passed since Kitty and Spike confessed their love for each other. And after, most of the day was spent together, holding each other and kissing and talking. Given Kitty's injuries, they couldn't do more yet, which frustrated Kitty to no end. And it only amused Spike, who used the time to whisper teasing comments and indecent promises in her ear to only rile her up further.

Though Kitty went home for the night — Giles didn't dare ask where she'd been all day, too scared of the answer — she returned in the morning with breakfast for her and a mug of blood for Spike.

Breakfast morphed into a morning of long, slow kisses that made Kitty melt against Spike. And when it really was time to go, it was incredibly difficult to get off his couch — lap — and actually do so.

"I really should go," Kitty murmured for the tenth time in thirty minutes. But then she just leaned down and kissed Spike, humming happily as he slid his hands under the hem of her shirt.

But then Spike's thumb brushed a still healing, stitched up wound on her side, and Kitty winced, pulling away. Spike instantly took his hands off and looked at her guiltily.

"Sorry," Kitty told him, holding her side.

Spike gently cupped her face. "You've nothing to apologize for. I should've been more careful with you."

Kitty smiled and leaned in to kiss him. Then she moved her lips to his jaw, and Spike sighed softly, closing his eyes. "I should be the one apologizing," she told him. "I don't like you holding back now that I finally have you."

"It's for the best, anyway," Spike said, pulling her head back. He brushed his thumb over her bottom lip, tugging it down to part her mouth. "I need you in perfect condition so that I can ruin you, good and proper."
