The kiss softly, still somewhat nervous about it. After a while they slowly pull away, still staring at each other.
"So that means you like me, too, then?" Bucky asks softly, knowing the answer already.
"That might've just complicated things." Steve murmurs, Bucky smirks.
"Maybe just a little. We can always complicate it more if you like..." Bucky almost purrs, Steve raises an eyebrow.
"Slow your roll, there, jerk." He says playfully.
"Punk." Bucky answers back, yawning. They sit silently again in the dark but rhe sun was starting to come up again, Steve hears a far away cry of a bird, a bald eagle, in fact. His favorite type.
Bucky gives Steve a sideways smirk then moves closer, they kiss again until the sun's fully risen.
"Alright. 'Kay, Bucky, stop." Steve says, getting up and stretching. They still had work to do on the boat and if they wanted to get back home or wherever they had to make some progress with it.
Bucky sighs and gets up as well, he yawns and stretches his arms out.
Honestly Bucky didn't know what they were supposed to do. He was a pirate, that's how he was raised. And Steve was a soldier, more or less. A navy man, a sailor, a captain. They couldn't be together, the world wouldn't work out that way.
He voiced these troubles to Steve when they were working on the almost finished boat.
"I don't know, Buck. I honestly don't know. I'm not going to be a pirate, you can bet your life on that." He sighs and Bucky nods.
"Wasn't expecting you to. But what can we do? I don't.... I don't want to be a pirate anymore, but it would take a whole lotta convincing of the others who hate pirates." He chews the bottom of his lip, deep in thought.
'I just know one thing. I'm not losing you, Stevie. Just found my bae, not lettin him' go now." Bucky smirks and Steve thwacks him on the arm.
'You did not just say bae. Seriously, Buck." He huffs, trying not to smile. Bucky shrugs.
After a while of working on the boat it's finally finished. Finally. Steve steps back and admires his handiwork, brushing his hands off on his pants. Bucky sighs, content with the work they did.
'What do you think?" Bucky asks, walking around the boat with his hands on his hips.
"It'll do, I suppose. As long as it floats, right?" Steve says, keeping positive. Bucky suddenly stops, eyes wide. Steve looks at him concerned.
"What?" Steve asks him.
"Every ship needs a name." Bucky replies plainly, he finds some charcoal and writes on the side S.S Stucky. Steve smiles and pats Bucky on the shoulder.
"Impressive." He laughs, Bucky grins.
"Well...." he shrugs, Steve cracks up. Bucky suddenly swoops Steve around even though the blonde was taller than him. He dips Steve then leans down and kisses him gently. Steve doesn't protest, curling his fingers around Bucky's hair. They kiss for a while until Steve pulls away, taking a deep breath.
"I want this to work." Steve whispers, watching Bucky, who nods.
"Me too." He sighs, they step away from each other, creating a yawning gap, a distance between the two of them. Steve sighs quietly and sits down on the sand, looking out towards the water.
