A Pirate's Life

Chapter 5

Fight scene in this. Might get a little upsetting or meh. Sorry. Procede with caution.

Bucky paces the deck, anxious that they were going to get caught. Natalia watches him, until she sighs and walks over to him.

"Are you alright, Captain?" She asks.

"Fine." Bucky snaps back, she raises an eyebrow and places a hand on her hip. She wasn't the type to take attitude from anyone, not even the captain. Bucky looks over at her and sighs, his shoulders slump and he rubs his face. He hated being rude to Natalia, his only friend.

"Anxious." He admits, she nods.

"Captain, they can't get to us here. We're cut off from open waters." She tells her brunette captain, who nods. They hear a yell from Johann in his German accent about an incoming ship. Bucky looks behind them and curses. It was the Commando again. He could just barely make out the form of Commodore Steve on the front of the boat, only barely.

"Can't get to us, eh?" Bucky growls and shoulders past Natalia, he starts barking orders at everyone.

"Arnim! Set up the cannons! Pierce, secure the lines!" He shouts, Arnim and Pierce do so, then Ward climbs up to deal with the sails. They take off with the Commando in hot pursuit. The wind rips at Bucky's hair and shifts his bandaged shoulder where he got shot. He looks up and curses again; the clouds were dark and bleak, and the wind howled angrily, whistling through the gaps between the sails. The Commando kept coming.

Steve was ordering people around as well, desperately trying to catch up to these criminals.

"Jim, tighten the sails! Monty, secure the cannons! A storm's coming, people, and we need to be ready!" He shouts, his crew scurries around and does as they're told.

Bucky looks over and the Commando was ever closer, closing the distance easily. They set up the cannons just in case and arm themselves with shotguns and rifles, what they've got handy at the time. Steve's crew were nervous but determined; they had the same mind when it came to pirates.

It had started to rain and pursuit was getting harder; the wind pushed against the wrong side of the sails, making moving forward very difficult. The pirates lower an anchor then swing over to Steve's boat, determined to be rid of the pest once and for all. Bucky swings over and lands in a roll, he ends up fighting Peggy. Jim was against Johann, Rumlow was against Dum Dum, Arnim tried staying out of the way. Ward fought Gabe, Pierce and Natalia were up against Steve who put up a fair fight on his own.

Steve turns around to see Jim get stabbed through with Johannes' blade buried into his stomach. His eyes go wide and blood starts seeping from the wound, Jim coughs and falls flat on his back. Steve looks horrified but can't dwell on the fact.

Natalia takes a stab at him but Steve dodges, Pierce goes to whack his head but he ducks. Out of the corner of his eye he sees Dum Dum hurrying over to help him, having had knocked out Rumlow. Dum Dum takes on Pierce, leaving Steve to deal with Natalia. She kept growling at him in Russian, but he had no idea what she meant.

The fight continues; so does the storm. It seems to go on forever.
