A Pirate's Life

Chapter 3

Bucky looks up as Natalia races towards him.

"Captain, we have our heading," she says curtly, and Bucky nods.

They'd been waiting for the perfect time to rob Port Whedon, but they had to plan it carefully so that Commodore Steve couldn't arrest them. He'd been on their trail for a long time now, and Bucky was getting frustrated with him. Why couldn't he just let him do his business and keep to his own? So frustrating.

Steve got word that the S.S Starchaser was on its way to Port Whedon, his post. He prepares his crew and gets ready for the attack that will surely come.

Bucky and his crew sail to Port Whedon in the middle of the night, and Bucky curses angrily when he sees guards walking around, peering into the darkness for unwelcome ships.

"I thought we wouldn't be caught," he hisses, whirling on Pierce, who narrows his eyes.

"Captain, my info said tonight would be clear. Besides, they can't get to us. Not with our speed. We'll just go in, rob, do our job then leave," he explains patiently to Bucky, who was only half listening.

They get onto the pier and instantly, it's mayhem. Rumlow torments the ladies, chasing after them, grabbing them. Pierce, Arnim and Natalia all rob the shops and houses closest. Bucky, Ward and Johann were all fighting.

Bucky stands up against Steve, having an intense sword fight. Bucky parries and Steve dodges then retaliates, stabbing forward. Steve slashes and Bucky jumps back. Steve grits his teeth in frustration; he hadn't fought anyone who matched his skill in a long, long time.

Dum Dum was having a fight with Rumlow, and now it looked like Peggy and Natalia were having a fight as well. Very vicious, more so then the men. Steve stupidly gets distracted when he hears Peggy cry out in pain. Bucky sees his opportunity and swipes at Steve who dodges this, but Pierce comes up behind him and whacks him on the head with the butt of his sword.

Steve sways for a moment before collapsing to the ground, unconscious. Bucky nods at Pierce then hears Natalia cry out. Peggy had a fistful of Natalia's hair clasped freely in her fist and Natalia was trying to elbow her, throw her off balance. Bucky runs over to help her, then they gather everything they've managed to steal. Bucky was almost back on the ship when a gun shot rings out and he feels a sharp pain in his shoulder. He grits his teeth, grabbing the wounded area. They get on the boat and take off. Steve's crew follow with their unconscious Commodore on board.
