D sat at the island with his hand holding up his head as his mother stood there staring at him. "Well D you can't just keep hurting the girl and expect for her to stick around forever. Briana is a sweet girl, but she's tough and if you think for a second that she needs you for anything your wrong". Anika didn't care if you were family or not, she was gonna always keep it a hundred with you.
"Ma I ain't even doing nothing that bad, I ain't never cheated on her and she knows that" he said sighing.
Anika shook her head "How does she know that when you got females calling ya phone... Come on now. I ain't have these problems with ya brother. Granted him and Asia had their problems, but I never had to have that talk with him about being faithful to her".
D sigh "You right ma... Shit just getting to me. I miss my brother and shit. It's hard without him around and I know that's not an excuse to hurt Briana it's just my head ain't right". Anika nodded her head "I get it, but D you gotta keep focus. Don't lose ya self because of the situation we in".

He shook his head frustrated and just then Makayla ran up to him. He leaned down and picked her up and sat her on his lap before his eyes landed back on his mother "You talked to Asia?" The day he found out that she had packed up and moved away, he was hurt even more. Without her and Kane around really did something to his mental because they kept him  sane. His missed the good times they had and it was driving him crazy with them not being around.
Anika nodded "Earlier... She's doing fine".
He kissed Makayla's cheek as he played with her hand "Is she really in Texas?"
"Yeah she's there, she got a job there and she's been doing good. She doesn't want us to worry about her she told me to tell y'all that she loves y'all and she will be back to visit soon".
"I can't wait for this situation to be over so things can go back to the way they were before" said D. Anika stood there staring at her son and she felt every word that left his mouth because she felt the exact same way. And she knew in her heart that some day sooner or later it would.

Asia took two pills out the medicine bottle and grabbed a bottle of water from the refrigerator. She walked over to where Ms. Tina was sitting and passed them to her before looking back at the clock hanging on the wall "Here it's time for you four O' clock meds then I'll make ya dinner in a few".
"Thank you baby". Tina swallowed the pills and looked over at her grandbaby with a smile on her face. She was so happy that Gina, Shawn and Asia came to stay with her. She had been alone for the past three years since her husband passed away.
"Eat ya nuggets" Gina told Shawn as she sat next to him. He looked up at her with chicken nuggets in his hand and smiled while he played with them "He's probably full Gina... Leave my baby alone".
Gina looked up at her mother with a smirk on her face "He always wasting food".

Tina glanced up at Asia who was standing behind her "Asia I'mma hurt her if she don't stop messing with him". Asia glanced down at her laughing before locking eyes with Gina. "I ain't messing with him".
Since they left California three weeks ago, Asia seemed to feel more at peace. Granted Kane was on her mind daily, she could focus a little more. She was missing everyone like crazy especially her daughter, but she understood that she needed this time to heal. Being in Texas was starting come together for her. The area was so peaceful and quiet, she loved it. Tina's five bedroom home was beyond lovely and huge with a big front and backyard.

Asia phone started ringing on the counter behind her. She Picked it up and answered the video call with a huge smile on her face. "Hey baby".
"Hi Mommy".
Baby Makayla sat on Anika's lap with her cup in her hand, smiling. Her speech was starting to come along and the fact that she was looking more and more like her father warmed Asia's heart.
"I miss you so so much. You being good?"
Makayla nodded as she wiped her sleepy eyes. "She's tired it's bout time for her nap, but she asked to talk to you" said Anika as she put her face in the camera.
Asia smiled "She looks like it".
"How are you doing .. you okay?" Asked Anika.
Asia nodded with a closed mouth smile "I'm taking it day by day, but for the most part I'm okay".
"You need anything?"
Asia shook her head no "Nope I'm fine you guys have done enough".

"And we will continue to do so Asia so if you need something don't hesitate" she heard Mace's voice in the background that made her giggle.
"Let me have a word with her cause I got some shit to say to her ass" said D as he took the phone from his mother. The moment she saw his face it made it even harder for her and the tears were building up in her eyes. This was the first time she had seen his face since she left California. Bad enough seeing Anika and her daughter made her sad, but to see her brother in law, a reflection of Kane pained her.
"I know you don't wanna face me, but you gotta face me soon enough" D said laughing, realizing that she was trying to hide her hurt with a smile. He also knew it was hard to face him and that's why she was avoiding him.

"I'm sorry Delontae" she said giggling as she wiped her tears before they could fall.
"How are you?"
She looked away and bite down on her lip "Good".
"Are you really?" He asked.  She finally looked back at the camera and nodded "Nah I'm good I promise I miss y'all".
He nodded even though he knew she was far from Good. "We miss you to Asia, but when you come back we gonna fight".
She nodded "Fair enough" she said in a calm, low voice.
"Imma let you go I love you and you be safe up there" said D, sincerely.
"I love you too" and just like that she ended the call. She put the phone back on the counter and took a deep breath while covering her face.
"You okay Asia?" Asked Gina, concerned.

Asia slowly looked up and that's when Gina and Tina both seen the tears that she tried so hard to hold back. She shook her head and walked out the kitchen. Her heart was broke and her thoughts were lost, she wanted her life back. Her happiness all in one and it seemed like no matter how hard she tried to pretend that she was alright, she was far from that.

Gina and Tina both found her sitting on the porch steps in deep thought as she stared up at the night sky. Tina took a seat in the chair on her porch while Gina took a seat next to Asia.
"You wanna talk about it?"
Asia took a long and deep breath as she played with her fingers. "This is so hard yo".
Gina nodded "I know it is" she said as she rubbed at the top of Asia's back.
"I just want him back... I want my life back. This is hard being away from my daughter, she means the world to me. Then D I avoid him because everytime I see him he reminds me of Kane and it hurts".
"What happened to your husband if you don't mind me asking?"
Asia glanced back at Tina before looking back forward with a resting expression "He was shot  the night of his father's party".
Tina gasped "That's horrible".

Asia nodded "They took him from me" she said as she took a deep breath and ran her hand down her face as she wiped away tears. She continued "They took him from me just when our life was beginning... Took him away from his children".
Gina frowned her face up in confusion "Kane has one daughter".
Asia looked over with low, glossy eyes and stared at her. Gina's eyebrows rose and her mouth dropped "Children... You pregnant?"
Asia looked away and slowly nodded her head.
Tina wiped away a tear or two and smiled "Well baby that's a blessing".
Asia looked back and blinked away tears as she nodded her head.

Tina took a deep breath "I'm so sorry that your going through this baby and it is hard trust me I know. I can relate to your pain... I lost my husband too and it broke me literally. I couldn't focus, I wouldn't eat or do anything so I know how you feel. I can't promise you that the pain will stop because it won't, but Imma pray for your healing and your strength baby cause your gonna need it and trust me the God that we serve will cover you".
Asia sat there in deep thought before she closed her eyes and dropped her head in her hands. She exhaled as Gina pulled her into her arms and comforted her the best way she could. She hated to see her friend this way and even though she couldn't really relate, she loved Asia and what bothered her friend bothered her.
