Hong Kong's lips curled into a soft smile, his still teary eyes staring up at the youngest Nordic with a grateful gaze.
-I'm... I'm gonna make it through this...
Iceland shot a proud, warm smile at the Asian.
-Yeah, you are!
-I am...
Iceland nodded, crossing his arms proudly at Hong Kong's courage. His face shone with a bright smile, that slowly made its way until he made Hong Kong smile wide too.
Iceland's cheekbones flushed a light pink at the foreign feature between Hong Kong's cheeks.
It was a precious, rare smile; showing his perfect white teeth. A beautiful sight that probably only Iceland could see.
He softly embraced the Cantonese, surprising himself as he took the leading role, and kissed his cheek caringly.
Hong Kong blushed a rose tone, finding himself into his lover's arms. Of course, he wouldn't take his usual tough role.
He was weak now. And it didn't bother him to have someone protecting him.
He curled up slightly, his wide smile turning into a weaker gesture, but still filled with the same happiness.
His golden eyes dropped a few more tears, but these ones weren't able to erase the boy's smile; once so rare, now a basic feature on him.
He leaned up to stare into Iceland's eyes, his smile mouthing a silent "Thank you", as he got closer.
Soon, their smiles were linked, in a sweet, passionate kiss.
Those moments, once so incredible to them, were becoming part of their life, and their favorite instants.
True love moments.
Just the both of them. Locked away somewhere.
Hong Kong was the first to pull away, haunted by thousands of thoughts that could become true.
All of them revolving around England.
Hong Kong's smile took a slightly saddening look, as his gaze moved from Iceland to his own lap.
-So... Like, I guess I'll have to...
Iceland sighed, patting his back reassuringly, and staring at him with the gaze of a proud father, just before his young child goes out to play in his first baseball match.
-You go, Cantonese boy. I know you can do it.
Hong Kong's serious face vanished into a chuckle, amused by Iceland's tone.
-Okay! Okay, Dad... -he wiped a laughter tear from his right eye- I will... Thank you, Ice.
He pressed a soft smooch on the tip of Iceland's nose, making him let out a cute giggle.
-Thank you so much... I really need some support
-It's nothing, Hong... I want you to be happy
-Oh... I want you to be happy as well, Ice -he smiled.
-I know, sweetie... Thanks...
They seemed about to kiss again, when a knock on the door distracted them.
-Who is it? -Iceland asked to the knocker, tilting his head a little.
A delicious scent filled the air; the sweet aroma of the vanilla, the cinnamon and the chocolate. All of it mixed with sugar and the nice, warm smell of fresh baked pastries.
-Daaanmark! -The knocker shouted in an intended over-thickened Danish accent.
Iceland rolled his eyes with a smile, smiling at Hong Kong. The Asian boy was already sniffing the air, his smile fading into a curious expression.
-Come in, uncle Danmark -he mimicked the thick Danish.
A loud, usually annoying chuckle was heard outside as the Dane opened the door.
He held a tray with delicious-looking sweets, Danish pastries, in his other hand.
He rested the tray on Iceland's night table and sat with them, slapping Hong Kong's back in an affectionate gesture.
-Hey, Hong Kong! How are you doing, buddy?
The Cantonese stared up at him, flinching slightly at the slap, but still fond of the man's care.
-O-Oh... I guess I'm, like... doing well -he shrugged, not knowing what to say- Thank you...
He may be seen as a reckless teenager, but he was actually an awkward boy that tried to be as polite as possible to his elders, of course, if they weren't his family.
-It's nothing! -The Dane smiled wide, resting the tray on his own lap and- Here, boys! I went on a baking spree, you see! Have some!
The cookies and muffins looked like the best Westerner food Hong Kong ever saw.
The tan and brown dough looked soft, leaving small crumbs on the tray as the almost-transparent frosting melted on top of them, or the chocolate and the vanilla were one with the pastries.
-Take one!
Denmark's voice slapped the teenager back to reality.
The man was kindly holding out the tray to him, inviting him to take one if his little baked prides; as Iceland nibbled on a chocolate cookie.
-O-Oh yeah, sorry...
He stretched out his hand to take a vanilla-flavored muffin.
The dough was soft, light yellow-colored, and a spiral of cinnamon danced to its tip.
-Thank you, Mr. Denmark...
-It's okay, boy! Eat, please! -He invited with a big smile.
Hong Kong bit down on the sweet muffin, smiling and spreading creamy-colored crumbs everywhere.
-It's delicious...
-Thank you, Hong Kong! -The Dane ruffled the Cantonese's brunet hair, to much of his surprise.
-They's as good as always, Frændi
The Icelandic boy smiled, refering to Denmark as "uncle" in his native language.
Such a sweet behaviour in the usually moody boy carved a bigger smile into the Dane's face, that ruffled his silverly hair as well.
-Thanks, nevø -he answered, responding with the same cute gesture; calling him "nephew" in his own tongue.
Hong Kong smiled, watching them. They made a perfect family.
A small flame of jealousy lit up at the bottom of Hong Kong's soul, but quickly blew it off, ashamed to feel that way for a second.
Soon, they finished the cookies and the other delicious, baked artworks, chit chatting about silly topics; such as sightseeing, culture in both Eastern Asia and Northern Europe...
The nervous feelings grew more suffocating into Hong Kong's chest.
He took a deep sigh, staring up at Denmark and Iceland.
-I... think I have to go now...
-Okay, Hong... Do you want me to go with you?
-No, no... It's fine really -he forced a small smile.
-Is it okay that you go home this late? -The Dane asked.
-Oh, of course... It isn't too late for me anyway... Thanks though
He got up, smiling slightly at them. Iceland sprang next to him and trapped him into a soft kiss.
Hong Kong blushed violently, fighting the urge to push him away under Denmark's amused stare.
-He already knows... Don't worry -Iceland smiled.
-Chill, buddy! I diiiidn't see anything -he chuckled, lifting his index finger to his smirking lips.
Hong Kong let out a relieved sigh, kissing Iceland back. He pulled away, smiling slightly.
-Xièxiè! -He waved his hand, thanking in Cantonese.
He walked away, saying goodbye to Norway, who didn't seem as prejudging as before, and the rest of the Nordics.
The blue afternoon sky was being dyed by purple and violet strokes, making the clouds look somewhat close to pink. The beginning of a wonderful, starry night's rise, darted by the warm, yellow lights from some houses, and the traffic lights; maybe even some paper lamps of dreamy children.
The atmosphere was quiet, yet the Cantonese teenager couldn't find calm. His heart pounded heavily against his ribs, his blood rushing and drumming into his ears.
Pure nervousness that crawled its way from its settlement into Hong Kong's stomach to his throat, making him cough and choke in his spit.
The menacing tears, treathening to race each other down Hong Kong's cheeks; the feeling of having a thousand needles playing into his stomach.
As soon as he entered his home, his head and hands felt cold, bloodless. Probably he was even a little pale.
He kept his usual careless glare, greeting with a grunt.
-Hong? -A soft, forced voice spoke from the couch- When did you go out, aru?
Hong Kong felt an inexplainable rage rampaging up his chest. He couldn't understand what made him hate his brother's voice in moments like those.
-A long ago... You probably couldn't hear me over your yelling -he muttered bitterly.
-I... I-I'm sorry, Hong... -the Chinese' voice cracked.
A strong déjà vu'sent a shiver down his spine, as he felt a heavy, gloved hand on his shoulder when he was going to help Japan comfort the oldest.
-Hong Kong... Sit down, we need to talk. -The Briton spoke.
