Veronica knew Harry hasn't reported the Umbridge incident and he won't. Well if he won't, she will.
It was 2 days after what happened in detention but Veronica knew Harry and him not wanting to report this was angering her. He was her friend and she just wants him to feel at home and safe here at Hogwarts.
It was night time and the common room was empty. Everyone had gone off to bed. Well accept Harry and Veronica. All they did was sit in awkward silence.
Veronica's eyes were staring at the words on his hand and finally after a minute, her anger was too much.
'Okay that's it.' She said as she stood up and turned to him.
He stared at her in confusion.
'You have to tell McGonagall or Dumbledor.'
'Why must you bring this up, Veronica? Seriously?'
'Damn it, Harry! The woman's abusive!' The girl practicly shrieked.
'We can't give Umbridge that satisfaction!' Harry replied as he got to his feet.
'And we can't let her go around abusing the students of this school!'
'You don't know about abuse! You have a family! You have parents! You didn't live 11 years in a broom closet!'
Veronica's eyes went wide with shock. She didn't expect Harry to talk to her like that!
'Why do you think I'm here?! Because of my old school! Where they would bully me! It was so bad that I tried to end it! I wanted to end it! I was ready to end it!'
This time it was Harry's turn to stay silent. Because he wondered how anyone would wanna heard a nice girl like her.
'But it's fine. Good night, Harry. See you in the morning.' With that Veronica walked towards the stair case. Suddenly she felt someone gently grabbing her arm and she froze in her tracks. She turned her head to see that it was Harry.
'Wait.' Was all he said as he pulled her closer and their lips met in a kiss.
It was a passionate kiss as Harry let go of her arm and put his hand on the back of her head. Deepening the kiss as she wrapped her arms around his neck and finally they both pulled away.
'Harry...' She murmured.
'We can talk tomorrow. Let's get some rest.'
Veronica nodded. 'Okay.'
