I woke up in my New York apartment, the sun shining through the curtains. I rolled out of bed, and smelled a wonderful scent coming from the kitchen.

"Wake up Seaweed brain, I made your favourite breakfast!" called Annabeth.

I walked into the kitchen, and saw that Annabeth had woken up early to make me blue waffles and blue chocolate chip cookies too; my favourite foods in the world.

"Good morning beautiful," I greeted Annabeth with a kiss. "Blue waffles and cookies?" I asked her. "What's the occasion?"

"It's august 18th... HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY PERCY!!!"

August 18th already? Wow, I'd forgotten my own birthday. But of course Annabeth hadn't. She never had. I remembered when the war with Kronos was over, and we'd started dating on my birthday. Just before that we had shared a blue cupcake, then had our first underwater kiss. I smiled at her, and she smiled back, looking more beautiful than ever, her long blonde hair glistening in the sun that shone through the window. We could've stayed there forever, staring at eachother, but then there was a knock on the door.

I approached the front door and Annabeth joimed me, but when I opened it, the least expected person was standing there.

"Oooo, waffles!" said Leo Valdez with a grin. "Mind if I stay for a bit?"
