Chapter 18: Leo

        Okay, now this guy was really freaking me out. Not only is Octavian stealthy, but his knife aiming is on point. He could choose to land that knife on any of our hearts, and that's why we have to end him. Though I hate the idea of killing people, I guess he counts as more of a mentally unstable murdering monster. Besides, he could start killing more campers at any moment. 

        Then as if on cue, I heard a scream coming from the volleyball courts, and I recognized it immediately. It was 12 year old Nik from the Hephaestus cabin where I used to live. I bolted towards the courts, to find a gruesome setting. Nik was laying dead on the ground, covered in blood with his hands cut off, and Octavian standing over him holding a bloody knife, grinning. I couldn't beleive what I was seeing, and with all the anger built up inside of me, I charged at him, completely unarmed. Apparently he had gotten some body guards, because two, eight foot Laistragonians stepped in front of me, filling the space between me and Octavian, but leaving a window so I could still talk to him. 

        "Nik was just a kid!" I shouted at him, my rage level rising. "WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THAT TO HIM HE WAS ONLY 12 YEARS OLD! DO YOU NOT EVEN REALIZE THAT HE WAS A CHILD, AND YOU TOOK HIS LIFE AWAY FROM HIM?!?!" I was bright red now. 

        "Oh boo hoo," Octavian replied. "I only killed him to get the point across that you and your friends should listen to me, or something far worse will happen to all of you. Now run along! Go tell them of this! Oh, and, deliver a message to Percy and Jason for me, will you? Tell them to meet me in the sword fighting arena at sunset tomorrow, and tell them to bring no one, or else I kill more campers, youngest to oldest." 

        I glared at him. "You make me sick." 

        "Well isn't that wonderful!" he answered. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have people to torture, and places to destroy."
