I listened in pure boredom as Percy paced around the floors of his cabin, continuing his half hour rant. "I mean, Frank, why are we all just sitting in our cabins, hiding from him?! There are AT LEAST 15 of us that would be more than happy to fight, and only one of him. If we wait, he'll probably call some reinforcements and come find us! Octavian is running on anger right now, so he's not thinking clearly, and he probably doesn't have a strategic plan, and if we strike now at his weak time, we will definitely win. Just think how cowardly it is of us to hide, while he could be on his way to killing our friends! We have to go out and fight! We—"
"Percy!" I finally stopped him. "Going on for hours about this won't help the situation. You're right, we need to do something. How about we go get Jason, Leo, Nico, and Will, and then take Octavian by surprise."
He nodded in agreement, so we gathered up our weapons, and headed to the Hephaestus cabin to find Leo and Jason. It took absolutely no persuading to get them out the door. I postulated that they had been planning to do something similar to what Percy and I were doing right now.
After that, the four of us headed down to Will's cabin to get him and Nico. When we walked in, they were watching a movie, their arms around each other. I had a guess that maybe they'd gotten back together, but as soon as they saw us, they jumped and moved away. "What are you all doing here?!" Nico asked.
I told them the whole attack plan, and they said they were in. After they got their weapons, we began searching for Octavian. It all would've worked, if it weren't for my clumsiness; As we passed cabin six, where Annabeth and Thalia were, I tripped on a fallen tree branch and knocked over a rack of swords, making enough noise for them to come out of their cabin and see what we were up to. Piper and Hazel must've heard it too, because they were already jogging over us.
"What is going on?" Annabeth asked. "You were planning to attack him on your own, weren't you!" Her face was turning red with anger, and the other three girls looked just about as happy as her. "Why wouldn't you ask any of US to help!? We can fight just as well, if not better than you guys!"
"Look, we're really sorry, but we didn't want you to get—" Percy tried to apologize, but Thalia cut him off.
"Did you seriously think we wouldn't catch on to your little plan?" Thalia asked ritorically. The girls were so furious, and I thought they were going to stop us, but then they looked at each other and all at once said, "we want to help."
So the ten of us started looking for Octavian together, ready to use our swords to turn him into shish-kabob.
