After waiting for what seemed like FOREVER, Annabeth came out into the hallway to see me. I was hoping to see her smiling, hoping for her to tell me that she was okay, but instead, my wise girl ran toward me with tears streaming down her face. She fell into my arms, and we held each other for a long time, until I asked "What happened?"
Annabeth just sobbed, and I did my best to comfort her, but there wasn't much I could do without knowing what happened. All I knew is that she was terrified, and I had to protect her. What could Dr.Roth have told her, that scared her this much? Oh no. Maybe Annabeth was sick. A million thoughts raced through my mind, then finally she answered "Percy, we found out why I had nausea, and why I blacked out."
"What caused it?" I said.
"Percy," she looked me in the eyes. "I have something very important to tell you. And I don't know how you'll react, but just promise me that you won't leave me."
"Hey," I told her in a gentle voice. "You know I would never leave you. Whatever you're about to tell me, we'll get through it together."
"Okay, then Percy, I don't know how to tell you this, but I...I..."
"It's okay, you can do it," I assured her.
"Im pregnant. We're having twins!" A smile formed on my face, and I hugged her, kissing her forehead.
"We're gonna have a family," I laughed. "You're going to be a mother, and I'll be a father. Is this really happening?" She nodded, smiling. "I love you seaweed brain."
"And I love you."
