It had been at least three minutes since we'd asked the guys what happened in the sword arena with Octavian. Dead silence filled the air, and I was growing impatient. "Percy?"
"Uh... Jason, you wanna take this one?" Percy said nervously.
Jason clearly wasn't happy with that, but he had no choice but to answer the question. "Okay, here's what happened. He didn't fight us at all, he just wanted to make a deal. He said he'll leave the camp alone if Percy and I go with him voluntarily and let him torture us."
I knew my boyfriend and I could tell he was either lying, or leaving out bits of the truth. Him and Percy kept exchanging nervous glances, and it might have been in my head, but I could've sworn I heard him whisper to Jason, "Nice save bro, I think they're buying it."
Now I probably should've said something about that, but then Jason looked at me with pleading eyes and I knew that they were lying for a good reason. At the same time though, their plan was to just go and let Octavian torture them. Could I let him do that? I decided that for now, I wouldn't say anything about it to anyone, but I would ask Jason what really happened later. "Come on guys, let's head back to the cabins and tell everyone what happened. They're probably worried." The three of them followed me through the woods, as Jason and Percy explained more details about what happened. Now I had to wonder if anything they were saying was true...
