A D R I A N A
.......
My eyes dropped slowly when I heard my familiar phone ringtone. I yawned and tried rolling but quickly held myself when I saw that I had crashed on the couch. Gee, must have been the wine.
I stood up immediately and rubbed my face before picking up my phone.
It was 1:30 pm. 1 missed call from Chris.
I stretched my arms and yawned loudly. My morning breath delved into my nose making me cringe.
Trust me, even rogues didn't deserve to smell this.
I ran up the stairs with my body headed for the bathroom to save my mouth from impending danger. After brushing my teeth, taking a quick shower, and dressing up, I was headed to my best friend's room.
I walked towards the guest room Justin and Ave were staying in. Opening the door slowly, my innocent mind was fixed on not getting scarred at twenty years.
Luckily, I saw only Avery on the bed meaning Justin was not around too. Deciding to get on her nerves, I climbed on the bed and started jumping on it.
"Ave. Wake. Up!" I said with my voice cutting at every single jump. I stopped when I saw her staring at me in disbelief.
"What is wrong with you?" She screamed and threw a pillow at me which I caught easily.
I smirked jumping down. "I'm making pancakes, take a shower, and come meet me downstairs." I quickly walked out of the room before she strangled me.
♾
I finished making the pancakes and served them on a plate. In perfect timing, Avery skipped down the stairs, her blonde hair bouncing.
"What's up bitch?" She said making me laugh.
I nodded my head at the pancakes before getting two forks. I gave one to her and sat down not without her giving me a fuck you sign because of the stunt I pulled earlier.
We started eating with a lot of things on our minds. Midway, we heard the door open and it slammed suddenly after. With the scents in the air mixed with the pancakes, their identities were a total giveaway.
"Mmm, something smells good," Justin said and kissed Avery's hair before sitting down beside her. She smiled in return also feeding him and I smiled at the cute sight.
Someone sat beside me and I turned to him, "Are you hungry?" I asked without looking at him.
"Nope." He said and Justin looked at me giving me an "I give up look."
"He's just tensed about tonight." He said taking another forkful of pancakes from Ave.
My interest perked up at that. "What's happening tonight Chris?" I asked and he glared at Justin who was still getting fed.
Justin shrugged and took another forkful of pancake with his mouth full. Chris looked at me and I gave him an inquisitive look.
"Tonight is the Ceremonial ball." He gave up sighing.
"Oh." That is all I can say about this.
Trust me, being married to Chris for 2 years meant that I had only been to this ball once. It was so boring last time that I forgot about it.
