A D R I A N A

•••••••••••

All I could care about right then was food. My tummy seemed to cut into two, I sighed to myself when I realized that I ran from Avery's former pack due to a certain someone and I did that without eating anything. Maybe that was why I wanted to die in food heaven right then.

"Hello?" I called out softly when I heard the clanging of a spoon as I walked into the kitchen. For some reason, my eyes softened when I saw my husband cooking quietly in there, I felt like I was some cheating wife at that moment. He turned to me and gave me a cute smile.

"Hey, honey. How was your stay?" He asked innocently and I gave him a weird smile. He also didn't hear or know that his best friend's Alpha position was taken from him.

My stay-

My mind drifted to his lips on my neck as he pressed against me. "It was okay Avery came back with me," I added at the end and he looked at me confused.

The door opened and my two buddies stepped in with confused and lust-filled looks on their faces. Their lips were both swollen and I chuckled to myself at their impatience. The feeling of meeting your mate. Avery tinted a little red when she noticed the mischievous looks I was sending to her. That didn't take long, did it now?

"Welcome, Avery," Christian grumbled and she nodded at him stiffly. So they both didn't like each other then. She didn't like him, it was clear on her face. I had to ask her about that later. "I'll have to serve the table."

I walked up to them wiggling my eyebrows while they tried to look somewhere else. "So, I'm the cause of this meeting. Can I get a thank you?" I chanted in a bossy manner and Avery laughed at me.

"No," Justin said and flicked me on the forehead. I winced and Avery tapped his head. "Ow."

"You can't hurt her! Especially not in front of me." She warned as he frowned at her in return. I stuck out my tongue at him like a five-year-old before skipping to go help my mate set up the table.

The table was silent and only the clinking of spoons on plates could be heard. I silently prayed in my mind that Chris would not ask questions cause I didn't want to talk about my stay.

My face fell when I thought about my pendant. Something told me it was with him. I mean, he did come there regularly. I couldn't bring myself into thinking that it had fallen into the wrong hands.

So he wasn't a bad person then?

Well-

"So, how was your stay babe?" Chris questioned and Avery's eyes twitched at the end. I guess maybe the word "babe" is a bit surprising but come on, it was just one endearment.

"Great," I said giving him a one-worded answer and also hoping that he would get the hint. "Avery and Justin are mates," I added trying to change the subject.

"Really?" Chris asked and we all stared at him deadpanned. I bet we all expected an "I know" answer. "It's good you came here, Avery. But why did you if I may ask? I've never known Adrien to be the type to let you out."
