Epilogue

"Kate! Ang ganda-ganda mo!" Sabi ni Ate Cassie sakin.

I'm wearing this dress for my wedding. And, my stylist styled my hair like a bun with a little flower on top.

"I can't believe that you're getting married na!" Sabi niya uli. "Baka mamaya, imbis na si Thorence ang umiyak ay ikaw ang umiyak HAHA!" I said while looking at the big mirror in front of me.

"We should visit mom and dad tomorrow! You know, let them know that we're both doing great. That we've grown like the delightful kids they've been wanting. I'll introduce Rielle to them rin." Sabi ni ate. "She saw them sa picture lang 'diba?" Tanong ko. Tumango naman si ate. 

"Tita Kate, you're so pretty po" Rinig kong sabi ni Rielle habang nakatingin sa'kin. "I wish Dad was here to witness your wedding" Napatingin naman kami ni Ate Cassie sa isa't-isa after sabihin ni Rielle iyon.  Lumayo naman ako nang lumapit si Ate Cassie kay Rielle.

I put on some lip balm to make my lips look shiny. Added some powder to my face. I took my phone and opened my camera to take some pictures. I won't post it for now. 

"Miss Pacana, its time" Sabi sakin ng wedding coordinator. Inalalayan naman ako at dahan-dahan naglakad. While walking to the car, everything happened between me and Thorence, flashbacks. From being enemies during College days, hanging out with friends, almost getting together, officially getting together, meeting his family, him proposing, and now, getting married. 

When we arrived in front of the church, my wedding coordinator helped me get out of the car. As I walked toward the door, I started to get nervous. Baka mamaya matapilok ako, ang taas pa naman ng heels ko. "Hala ma'am! Ninenerbyos ho ba kayo? Wag kayo nerbyosin ganda-ganda niyo today, ma'am. Kung iniisip niyo na baka matapilok kayo, just remember na it's like a runway, and the aisle is your stage. Pero, syempre dahil kasal niyo ngayon ni Sir Thorence, hindi dapat gano'n HAHA! Baka sabihin ng mga tao na rumarampa kayo sa kasal niyo HAHA!" sabi niya. "Just remember po that this is your day. You're becoming a wife na po, take a deep breath and remember everything that you did together, and you won't get nervous po" Dagdag niya at ngumiti sa'kin.

"Anong pangalan mo?" Tanong ko. "Allaiza po" Tumango naman ako. "That's your cue. Smile po" Sabi niya.

The doors opened in front of me. The guests were staring at me. I started to get nervous again, but then I remembered what Allaiza said.  I took a deep breath and sigh. Dahan-dahan akong naglakad at tumingin ako sa harap. I saw my man crying. I never saw him cry jusko.  Wala pa ako sa kalahati nang lumapit ang dad ni Thorence. He held out his arms and I hold onto them. As I get closer to the altar, I too started crying. Imagine if my Dad is the one that I get to walk to the altar with. 

I held Thorence's arms when I got in front. I can't believe this is happening!!!

"Welcome family and friends. We are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the marriage of Kate and Thorence. This is not the beginning of a new relationship but an acknowledgment of the next chapter in their lives together. Kate and Thorence have spent years getting to know each other, and we're now witnessing the development of their relationship. They will formally and publicly reaffirm their bond today." Sabi ng pari.

"They will commemorate their union as a couple not just by honoring their love for one another, but also by honoring the love that exists amongst all of us—including their parents, siblings, extended family, and best friends. Today would be a lot less joyful if it weren't for that affection." Dagdag niya. I felt Thorence holding my hand and I looked at him and he was looking at me too. 

"Let us now hear the vows of our beloved couple, no vows are more profound or powerful than the ones that will be exchanged here today. Your wedding vows are a holy proclamation of your love for one another, the foundation of your marital partnership, and the life you desire to create together. Please face each other as you declare these vows to one another. Thorence, you may start."

"I, Thorence, take you, Kate, to be my legally married wife I promise to be there for you in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health. For the rest of my days, I promise to be true to you and to love you unconditionally." Thorence said. My tears started to fall. 

"Kate, please now make your vows"

I took a deep breath and sigh.

"I, Kate, take you, Thorence, to be my legally married wife I promise to be there for you in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health. For the rest of my days, I promise to be true to you and to love you unconditionally." I said.

"Do you, Thorence, take this woman to be your wedded wife?"

"I do," He said.

"Do you, Kate, take this man to be your wedded husband?"

"I do" sabi ko naman.

"Let us now proceed. It is now time for you to exchange rings. Your rings symbolize the eternal commitment that you make to each other and the never-ending circle of your love. May these rings always remind you of the commitment you are making here today.  Thorence and Kate, please repeat after me. I... give you... this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you."

"I, Thorence, give you, Kate, this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you" He slowly slid the ring on my finger." 

"I, Kate, give you, Thorence, this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you" He slowly slid the ring on my finger." I inserted the ring on his finger.

"It is with great honor and delight that I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Lanforde. You may now kiss the bride" Everyone cheered when they heard that. Kinuha niya ang veil na nasa mukha ko at inilagay sa likod ko. He smiled at me, held my cheeks, and slowly kissed my lips.  People cheered again. I hear whistles and their shouts. 

"I love you, Mrs. Lanforde" he chuckled. "I love you too, Mr. Badboy," I said and laughed.
