Lilith woke up the next day with a brain splitting headache. She didn't remember a whole lot of the day before, the only thing she knew was that Eliott had been killed. She realized that she wasn't attached to any sort of chains. And her cell door was open. She could easily escape. Well, easily wasn't the word since she was so hurt, but she could try. She needed to find a hospital, soon.

She hadn't even realized that her head had been bleeding yet. But, if she let it continue much longer her state was going to decrease even more. How would she make it up the stairs and out of the gate this time? She wasn't entirely sure, but she would figure it out. Hopefully.

She stood up, and stumbled over to the metal bars that had once contained her. She clung tightly to the cold bars as she walked to keep from falling. She hoped it was night and Julian was sleeping, or maybe he was in some sort of meeting.

She heard his booming voice. It was the ceremony. She would have time. It sounded early on, and he was on some ramble. She would have time.

She fell when she reached the stairs, but she didn't give up. She pulled herself up each stair, until she finally reached the top. It had probably been over twenty minutes by now. She listened to Julians voice carrying into the hall. He was still talking, hopefully she still had plenty of time.

She stood up, using a wall to balance, and started sliding over to the main doors. It was so close to the stairs, how come she had had never gone down there?

As she walked she held her breath. The pain of walking was almost unbearable. She almost gave up, she would suffer the consequences of Julian finding her outside of her cell, but she thought about finally being free. Out of this hellhole.

Lilith made it out of the front doors after another twenty minutes. She had limited time now, and she couldn't hear Julian. She couldn't hear if he was still talking or not. She struggled as she walked to the place they had escaped previously. She thought back to Henry. She wasn't going back for him. She didn't care about him by this point. He was the reason she was in this state. If Eliott hadn't gone back for Henry, Lilith wouldn't have been locked up in the cell. No one would know where they were. They had a chance.

She shook herself out of her thoughts, and fekt the fence. It still hadn't been fixed. Weird. And there was a hole already in the fence. Big enough for a person to walk through. She didn't even need to crawl. She waved her arm through the hole to make sure it wouldn't set off an alarm. Nothing. She stepped through, and slowly started her way deeper into the woods.

A few hours had past, she didn't stop walking the entire time. This was further than the others had gotten the last time. She has a chance, finally.

Lilith saw a road. She found a road! Cars! People! She almost cried out of pure happiness, but as she made it to the edge of the woods, her legs collapsed underneath her. Twigs scratched her entire body, drawing more blood. She was exhausted, and malnourished. She was so close, yet so far. It would be really ironic if she died right before getting help.

Her eyes grew hazy, and it sounded as if her ears had filled with water. The cars passing, just a few feet in front of her, and someone…talking? Was someone there? She looked up, and saw a blurry figure of a person just as she fell out of consciousness once again.

Indigo was driving down the highway, going to the store. She saw something in the woods, maybe it was an animal. Shes always had a soft spot for animals. She had to make sure whatever it was was okay.

She pulled over, and walked over to where it was, and soon discovered it was a person. She ran over, and kneeled by the girl. She was horribly wounded, skinny, and…corpse-looking. She checked for a pulse on her neck. She couldn't see her breathing, but there was a pulse. Horribly irregular. "Im going to get you help. I need to grab my phone, but I'll be back, I promise. I won't be long, my cars just over there." She pointed at her red Chevy, and quickly grabbed her phone and called 9-1-1 while going back to the girl.

"9-1-1 whats your emergency?" The person on the line asked.

"I found someone passed out on the edge of some woods by a highway. She looks like a highschooler, but she is horribly wounded. She desperately needs medical attention."

"Alright, where are you?"

Indigo told the person the highway they were on.

"Alright. We have an ambulance on the way. Shouldn't be more than ten minutes. How are they wounded? Just for added information."

"She looks as if she hasn't eaten in days. A black eye on each eye, a swollen nose, and her lip looks bad, and shes bleeding pretty bad out of her head. Some looks dried onto her hair. Thats just what i can see, shes wearing a long sleeve and pants."

"Alright. Thank you for being so calm. They are almost there, are you related to her in any way?"

"No, i just found her while driving to the store, but is there any way I could go with her? Just to check on her state, even just until her family is aware."

"Yes, what is your name?"

"Indigo Bunting. Thank you so much." She stood next to the girl, just in case she woke up. She looked out cold though. Who knows how long she had been in the woods, let alone travelling through the woods. It goes on forever.

The ambulance pulled up right next to them, and the medics  quickly moved, grabbing the brown headed girl, and putting her in the back. "the ambulances are here. Thank you so much." Indigo hung up on the dispatcher, and crawled into the back of the car with her.

Indigo held onto her hand as the paramedics worked hurriedly on her, hooking her up to IVs, and bandaging open wounds. They examined her body, revealing it all bruised. She was all purple, blue, and green with bruises. Immediately, everyone knew she had broken almost every single rib, if not all of them.

The medics knew this wasn't an accident, someone had done all of this to her. They noticed more bruises on her legs, and a wound that had been very deep, and hardly treated if it even was at all. But it was closed by this point.

They made it to the hospital quickly, and rushed her into a room to get x-rays. Indigo waited in the waiting room. it's all she could do by this point.

The doctors took Lilith into surgery right after x-rays and saw how bad the situation was. It was a miracle she wasn't dead yet. Her ribs had punctured a few organs when they broke, the only reason she was still alive was because they hadn't been taken out of the wound, it suppressed the bleeding.

They placed her bones in the right places again, through a long, multiple hour surgery. They also had to close the wounds her ribs had created. The surgery went well, and she was sent to her hospital room, she was kept on close watch by doctors for a long while.

Many hours had passed, and she still hadn't woken up. That greatly worried the doctors with the amount of wounds she had.

Indigo was told she wasn't going to be able to visit her for a few hours, and that she should go home, but they would text or call whenever she was able to. The doctors wanted her to wake up to tell what had happened before anyone was allowed to visit. They just had to hope she didn't have amnesia.
