Chapter 18: The Unthinkable

Wilbur saw the glow of the fire in the distance he could smell the smoke, he'd run out of arrows and was now in the battlefield, he could see Techno and the Fire god through the flames, no, no, no, not him again "Dad!!" Wilbur yelled for his father, Phil wasn't far he heard his sons yell over all the screaming and clanging of swords, he ran towards it, he came up to Wilbur worried something had happened, "Wil what's wrong are you ok?" Phil said running up to his son checking him over, he had no major wounds just fear in his eyes and a couple scrapes and bruises

"It's Techno he's over there- it- its the Fire god again" Wilbur said as he looked at his father with the same fear he'd had the day Techno left, Phil shook his head and took off his wings beating against the thick smoke, thankfully the smoke was thick enough he wasn't visible to any of the soldiers, it did make it hard to breath as he went through it he looked down and saw his son on his knees in front of the Fire god, Phil landed in the circle of the flames he was behind Techno

"Get away from him Sapnap!" Phil said in a demanding voice looking at the Fire god, "Ah father has come to save you again hasn't he?" Sapnap said taunting Techno, Technos face was filled with anger, but right now if he didn't stop the bleeding in his side he wouldn't finish this war alive- no matter if he was immortal or not-

"I told you to get- away- from him" Phil said angrily, clutching his sword so tightly that his knuckle turned white, "And how're you gonna make me do that? Angel of death? I have your sons life in my hands I could run him through right now and I wouldn't have a trickle of remorse" Sapnap chuckled sinisterly as he held his sword to Technos throat, "You couldn't kill me if I wanted you to" Techno laughed sarcastically then coughed up blood as he held his side- warm dark blood running down his hands.

Phil walked closer to the two, the fire still blazing around them creating a suffocating smoke for Phil, "I'll kill you where you stand if you don't lower your sword" Philza said getting more angry his face started to harden, "ok Philza if I let my sword down away from the Blood god what'll happen?" Sapnap asked Phil, "you'll die" Techno smiled and looked up at the Fire gods dark eyes blood dripping down Technos mouth, "well what good does it do me to let you go if he'll just kill me right after?" Sapnap asked Techno, "well in this case you choose your death you either die after you've scarred Techno in which case will be much more painful for you, if you don't hurt Techno more than you already have I'll still kill you but it will be quick" Phil smiled, "Well I guess either one is ok since I'm just the distraction anyway" Sapnap smiled sinisterly his white blood stained cloak blowing in the wind almost catching on the embers from the fire

"What do you mean distraction?" Techno asked worried as he snapped his head up to meet the gaze of the fire god, his side was still bleeding but he didn't care

Sapnap just smiled, Techno and Phil heard a scream

"Dad! Techno!" Wilbur screamed

Phil and Techno turned to see where Wilbur was but they couldn't see him through the flames, Sapnap took this opportunity to strike, he shoved past Techno and lunged at Phil, Phil saw him right as he was about to come down on his sword, he was unprepared but he could handle it

"Technoblade go find Wilbur!!" Phil yelled as he was fighting Sapnap

Techno nodded urgently, and got up to his feet, his side pouring out blood as he tried to walk, but his brother was in trouble and that's all that mattered, he threw a potion on himself so his clothes wouldn't burn as he went through the fire, he held his side- blood dripping down his hand, and blood coming out of his mouth

"Wilbur! Where are you!" Techno yelled for his little brother, hopefully not dead we want to do that job ourselves the voices laughed, Techno shook his head to clear it, it didn't really work but all that mattered was that his little brother was in trouble.
