I woke up with an enormous headache.
"Ugh.." I groaned.
I heard the sound of laughter. I opened my eyes and saw Thomas barely able to stifle his chuckles. Annoyed, I threw my pillow at him. He dodged it.
"I see you're feeling fine," I sat up in bed with a grunt.
"Yep. Apparently, I'm the only one here who does," He said with a grin.
I looked around. Newt and Frypan were nowhere to be found.
"Where are they?" I asked, rubbing my tired eyes.
"Throwing up in the bathroom. They're worse than you."
I stood up and stretched. I tried to remember last night. My headache stabbed my brain. It hurt to think. I couldn't remember anything after we started playing truth or dare. Oh well. With a yawn, I got ready for the day and headed to the Mess Hall with Thomas. When we arrived, I saw Harriet sitting down at a table, talking in a hushed tone to Teresa. She looked nervous. Wanting to say hello, I made my way towards her, with Thomas right behind me.
As I approached her table, she noticed me.
"Hey Harriet." I said, trying to sound cool.
She froze for a few seconds before replying.
"Hi Minho.."
That was weird. Usually she was more lively. Huh. It was probably because of the hangover from last night. Shrugging it off, I greeted Teresa and the four of us talked for a while. Thomas and I say goodbye when they have to head off to their jobs.
"Bye Teresa!" Thomas waved.
"Bye Harriet!" I said, winking at her.
Instead of smiling like she normally would have, she paled and turned on her heels, walking away quickly with Teresa on her heels. Frowning, I turned to Thomas.
"Don't you think Harriet is acting a little weird today?"
Thomas rolled his eyes.
"Who wouldn't be, lover boy?"
Before I could say anything else, he walked off, probably to help around the Community since his job was starting in a few days. Confused, I decided to check in with each of the Keepers, to make sure everything was running smoothly.
I went first to check in with Gally and the Builders. They were working on more furniture. After seeing that everything was running smoothly, I checked on Aris and his Coppers. So far, there had been only three fights. All about who would be getting what furniture. Aris had everything under control so I went over to Newt and his Gardeners. As usual, everyone was working hard, with no complaints. I talked to Newt and Teresa for a while until I decided to check on the Medjacks. I arrived at the small clinic that we had built and saw that Clint was running things nicely. Elizabeth spotted me and waved me over.
"Hey Liz, what's up?" I asked.
"Not much, I was wondering about you, lover boy," She said while smirking.
"What? What are you talk-"
"Oh sorry, I gotta go now. See you later!" With a wink she took off. Rolling my eyes, I headed off to check on the Cooks. When I arrived in the Mess Hall, Frypan and his cooks were almost done with preparing lunch.
Seeing that everything was alright, I headed over to the last stop of the day. The Ranch. Where Sonya... And Harriet would be. Licking my lips nervously, I made my way over to the Ranch. As I arrived, I saw Sonya supervising everyone. She had everything under control. I looked to find Harriet and I saw her, feeding the cows. Her light brown hair that fell halfway down her back was pulled into a tight ponytail. Her warm brown eyes were bright with determination. She was...

FanfictionHello everyone! I read The Maze Runner Trilogy and decided to change the ending, which I disliked. The only changes are that Brenda sacrificed herself instead of Teresa, and Newt is immune. This story revolves around the Immunes' new life in Paradis...
