A Not so Wicked Paradise

CHP 17: Minho

I hate Jack. And Ivan. And Chris.

Everything had been going great until they had to screw it all up. Harriet barely told me why she kissed Ivan yesterday, after Newt left.

She was threatened.

By who you may ask? Jack.

I let out a sigh as I once again knocked on the door,
"Harriet, I know you're in there. Let me in... Please?" I swallowed down my nervousness and rocked on my feet, waiting to see if she would reply.

I had ran after her and saw her get into the cabin she shared with the girls. I was going to give Thomas a piece of my mind the next time I saw him. He needed to learn how to take a hint.

I was startled when the door slowly opened. I looked inside. Harriet was sitting on her bed, legs pulled up to her chest. Her eyes were tear stained and she looked tired.

Anger boiled inside me.

I wanted to beat the snot out of Jack and his cronies for scaring Harriet like this.

Containing my anger, I walked over to her bed and sat next to her, placing a hand on her shoulder. She looked up at me and smiled sadly. My stomach flip flopped. I pulled her close to me, comforting her, as well as myself.

I woke with a start. I opened my eyes, still a little groggy. I was in bed, with Harriet curled up next to me, still sleeping. I smiled to myself and watched her sleep. After a while, there was a knock on the door.

Reluctantly, I got out of bed. I opened the door slowly,
"Who is it-"
I felt a hard punch connect with my face and I blacked out not before hearing an ear piercing shriek.

I stirred, my cheek throbbing. I opened my eyes, licking my dry lips. I was in the forest. Alone. I was tied to a tree, sitting down. I struggled against the ropes.

They didn't budge.

I swallowed nervously.

What have I gotten myself into?
