Lincoln released Clarke's arm and gave her a warm smile.
"Clarke, if you and your crew would follow me and my warriors off to the royal palace, I would be happy to get you situated. Your Chancellor has informed us all about how your presence here is to locate some lost friends of yours who you believe to be somewhere on the planet. I'm sure Anya would be very happy to assist you with that once we get you all safely settled."
"Sounds good." Clarke answered politely, and with that, the group was off. Clarke knew that a lot the the 100 would likely be upset with the position she now found herself in, probably suspecting her to have known she would be declared the captain all along, but most of the group were too caught up in taking in their new surroundings to care about what Clarke was doing. The city of Theed was just absolutely gorgeous.
Lincoln and his warriors escorted the pretend Skai Crew through the various courtyards, market places and plazas that would lead them to the royal palace. Several times Lincoln would ask the group if they would rather take some faster form of transportation and not have to walk but the offer was always denied quickly. The city was far too beautiful and the 100 wanted to take in everything they possibly could, not having been on another planet since their journey to Endor as young children.
Throughout their journey, Clarke could constantly feel eyes on here. A lot were just random Theed citizens and warriors who unsurprisingly were shocked when they saw the large group of pretend Skai Crew members being accompanied by the ambassador and his many warriors. Clarke could also feel Wells's eyes in particular, practically burning holes in the back of her head.
"Just up here," Lincoln pointed to a large gate "is the path to the rolling fields. As you walk out there you'll reach a few markets here and there but the fields themselves...well, there's really nothing like them. Even Dark Lords are rumored to have once enjoyed picnics on the grassy plains right in front of the great waterfalls. You wouldn't happened to have heard of Anakin Skywalker have you Clarke?"
Clarke shook her head no and Lincoln let out a little chuckle.
"There are a lot of important stories to be told in this galaxy huh? A lot of interesting people. Can't quite blame you."
Clarke noticed out of the corner of her eye that Wells was trying to catch up and approach her but was happy to see Octavia shove in front of him to come walk next to her and Lincoln leaving the rest of the 100 and Lincoln's warriors behind to mingle and walk together.
"Hi I'm Octavia, nice to meet you." Octavia greeted Lincoln, already having picked up on the Theed handshake Lincoln and Clarke had exchanged earlier and copying it perfectly.
"It's an honor to meet you Octavia. What is your roll within Skai Crew?"
"I'm second in command." Octavia answered confidently. She was so convincing in her response that Clarke wanted to believe her despite the fact Clarke knew very well neither she nor Octavia had any real position of leadership in Skai Crew. Mostly though Clarke was just impressed with how fast Octavia was to evaluate their situation and give herself a place of power in this little make pretend game they had found themselves playing in.
"Clarke, it seems you have chosen an excellent second in command." Lincoln smiled.
"I agree Lincoln." Clarke answered, deciding it would be best to just go with this. Octavia seemed smart enough to be a really good ally to her as they navigated through this ridiculous distraction mission. Plus Clarke desperately craved to have someone she could talk to. She needed a friend.
"I was supposed to wait until we got to the palace to make the offer but I would like to invite you two and any other top ranking officials you have in Skai Crew to dinner with myself, the other city ambassadors and Anya herself. Would you please consider the offer? Your presence would be a gift to us all."
