Madi had led Clarke and Lexa out of the forest where the sparring field was and to a beautiful patch of land lit with torches and candles. There was a massive bench type table also covered in candles but piled high with plates of food, Night Bloods all sitting patiently on the benches.

Madi Led Clarke and Lexa to an empty part or the table with room for all three of them to sit. Madi sat down first and motioned for Clarke and Lexa to take a seat on either side of her. The rest of the children were all waiting for the two women to arrive to start dinner and Clarke watched Aden who was sitting across from her at the table reach to grab some food.

Both Clarke and Lexa were still trying to make sense of what had just happened out in the woods. For Lexa it was strange that Clarke knew her real name, something that very few people actually had ever known. It made no sense to her. Clarke on the other hand was just absolutely shocked with Lexa's ability to get inside of her head and talk to her. They had so much to talk about, but Clarke knew it would be foolish to attempt any such discussion in front of the Night Bloods.

Clarke decided that her best option would be to just focus on the food and the children. She was very impressed with how quickly they had set up such a nice meal. It wasn't nearly as fancy as what was served in the palace with the Theed Royals, but it was still impressive nonetheless.

"Clarke would you like to try the berries I've gathered today?" Madi asked, handing Clarke a bowl of round black berries.

Clarke nodded her head and accepted some berries from the bowl with a grateful nod. She popped the small fruits into her mouth, chewing and swallowing quickly when she realized how bitter they were. Clarke tried to pretend like they were really delicious for the young 7 year old, but struggled to keep a straight face earning some chuckles from Lexa and Aden who had both watched the interaction.

"They aren't quite in season yet." Lexa explained, already seeming less serious than she had only minutes before in the forest.

Her reaction put Clarke at ease again.

"I think they're good." Clarke reassured Madi, watching a massive smile spread across the young girl's face.

Liar

Clarke was startled by Lexa's voice in her head again but couldn't help but laugh a little. It was true. The berries Madi had given her were horrible and Clarke was happy to reach across the table and grab some other foods, all of which were very good and took the bitter aftertaste away.

Clarke found tonight's dinner to be much more enjoyable than the night before. She was happy to be in the palace with the royals, but she felt a lot more comfortable here with Lexa and the Night Bloods. Something about the environment just reminded her of what she would want a real family to feel like.

When Clarke looked past Madi to look towards Lexa, she was surprised to see Lexa already staring at her. She watched the commander's cheeks turn a dark shade of pink, clearly caught red handed and Clarke couldn't help but smirk to herself. Simp Clarke thought to herself, giving Lexa a playful smile.

What's a simp?

Clarke nearly choked on her food, hearing Lexa's voice in her head yet again. Only now Clarke was growing used to it. What she didn't understand was how Lexa had read her mind. It made no sense.

Clarke you can talk to me the same as I can talk to you Lexa explained in Clarke's head.

Clarke felt her heart start to race. She was originally planning on just focusing on dinner and ignoring the insane discovery the two had made in the forest, but this was just too much to ignore. Clarke had to try again. She closed her eyes and thought of Lexa, thinking of something to say. Can you hear this in your head?
