The journey back to Polis was absolutely heart wrenching for Clarke. She had never been so worried for anyone in her life. Those children were in real danger and they didn't even know about it.

Along with her overwhelming fear for the night bloods, Clarke also felt an equal amount of overwhelming anger. She wanted to destroy Lexa. Kill her even. The commander was not only trading the lives of 13 innocent children for peace with the enemy, but she was training them to be Sith Lords. People who would do the exact same thing Pyris had done to Naboo to another 13 other planets just like it.

Then there was the overwhelming amount of fear Clarke was feeling too. She was connected to Lexa. There was clearly no denying it. Lexa was a Sith. That meant Clarke was deeply connected to a Sith. Maybe Lexa could even hear the thoughts in her head at that exact moment. Maybe she wanted to hurt Clarke. Maybe she wanted to kill Clarke just as badly as Clarke now wanted to kill Lexa.

The only other time Clarke could remember being this upset was when she found out Wells had betrayed her. After she had blacked out and beat up Wells nearly to death, Clarke swore she'd never let any darkness inside of her take over again. But with Lexa, that idea had actually become tempting. Maybe the darkness was a good thing. No, Clarke couldn't think like that. If she wanted to save the night bloods then she needed to remain in control of herself, her thoughts, and her feelings.

"We're here, Clarke!" Luna called out loudly from the upper deck.

Clarke waited no time at all, quickly jumping over the edge of the ship's rails and splashing down into the shallow river bank below. The rest of her friends as well as Luna's entire crew all followed behind her as Luna moved ahead to lead the way.

"This way."

Clarke walked at Luna's side at a brisk pace, trying her hardest not to break out into a sprint. They had several miles to walk just to reach Polis and if the First Order had beaten her there then she'd need her energy to fight. Logically Clarke knew they still might have a chance since Pyris had come alone the last time she saw him talking to Lexa and he certainly couldn't have taken the kids by himself. Still, this knowledge really didn't do much to put Clarke's mind at ease.

After several miles of walking Clarke froze in place. Everyone stopped along with her surprised to see the incredibly frantic 18 year old stop in place. Then it happened. Clarke felt an incredible searing pain slash all the way across her torso causing her to scream out in pain and crash to the ground.

"Clarke!" Luna yelled, instantly kneeling down next to Clarke who was still screaming in agony.

It was Octavia who knelt down next to the two girls, carefully taking off Clarke's jacket and lifting up her shirt to reveal...nothing. There was nothing there. No scratch, no mark, no bruising. It was beyond strange.

Luna and Octavia did their best to try and calm the young Arkadian down but nothing seemed to ease her pure agony. Finally after about 2 or 3 minutes more, Clarke fell silent.

"Clarke! Are you ok?" Octavia asked, carefully holding her friend up as a mixture of sweat and tears slowed their flow down Clarke's face.

"What was that?" Clarke asked, never having experienced such a painful and unexpected incident before.

No one seemed to know the answer but Clarke didn't feel like taking time to wait. She stood up from the ground, dusting herself off and wiping the sweat and tears from her cheeks.

"Clarke shouldn't you take a moment to-" Bellamy tried to speak before being interrupted by a restless Clarke.

"No. We have to go."

And with that, that group was off again although now at an even faster pace. They were getting extremely close to Polis and Clarke couldn't wait any longer. A cloud of smoke became visible high above in the trees far ahead and as soon as Clarke noticed this she took off sprinting with the rest of the group doing their best to catch up.
