chapter 13

Over these past few days, Seungkwan and his husband Vernon have been acting very strange, stranger than usual. Like for example, they are always out and when I ask them where they have been they just make up some lame excuse or just change the subject. Every time, I ask them if they want to hang out, they always tell me that they have something else to do and cant hang out with me. They never used to act like this until recently. Before it was them asking if I wanted to hang out with them and then me telling them that I cant because I'm busy with work and now look how the tables have turned. I was getting kinda fed up with them flaking on me, so I decided to go and stalk them and see what they are up too. I had a week off from work due to my mother being worried about my health. So as planned, I decided to ask Vernon if he wanted to hang out with me so I rung him and after a few rings he answered 

"hello" he said quietly

"hey Vernon how's life?" I asked cheerfully 

"uh life's fine, what do you want shua?" he asked quickly. wow how rude.

"I'm fine Vernon thanks for asking and anyways I wanted to ask you if you wanted to hang out with me today as I don't have work today?"

"ummm sorry shua I cant hang out with you today but maybe another time" 

"but why?" I asked genuinely curious as to what he had to say

"...me and seungkwan are going out on a date so sorry" he said almost hesitantly 

"ooh where you going?" I asked making it seem like I was fooled by his lie 

"ummm to the carat café I've heard that they make the best food ever and I really want to see for myself" 

"oh ok then ill ask someone else then bye"

"bye" he said and quickly ended the phone. Well I was thinking about going to the carat café myself I heard that their food it out of this world. I quickly change into something comfortable. Some black jeans with a black shirt covered with a jacket as it was starting to get chilly around here. I hopped into my car and drove to the carat café. But once I got there I saw no sight of Vernon or seungkwan so I waited and ordered some food thinking that they may be late. But they still hadn't arrived yet so I decided to phone them 

"hey Vernon where are you now?"

 "uh at the carat café why?"

"oh no reason I just wanted to ask about Kwanon. I haven't spent that much time with him recently and I miss him" I said and quickly coming up with a lie. Well technically it wasn't a lie since I did miss him

"you literally saw him all day yesterday" he chuckled 

"ok and that's not enough" I whined letting out a sigh of relief. Seems like he bought my lie

"well then I'll be sure to bring him around maybe after our date. Anyways I have to go now the show is starting" he said quickly 

"show? huh what are you on about?" I asked confused as I took a tip of the hot chocolate

"the zoo show?" he asked hesitantly 

"The zoo show? I thought you were at the café"

"oh what am I talking about I meant the food is almost here got to run" he laughed nervously

"your not at the café are you?" I asked rolling my eyes. Hearing me say that he quickly ended the call. Gee what is it with everyone hanging up on me without finishing our conversation. What an actual big liar I'm here right now at the exact place that I was told that they would be at yet I don't see him. I was about to get up when someone placed a drink in front of me 

"here sir, enjoy your drink and please come again next time" a familiar voice said that sounded as if it was in a rush, probably to serve the other customers as it was kinda crowded in here

"thank yo- mingyu!" I said and quickly jumped up shocked to see him. I started at his face as he started back at me shocked as well.

"Joshua!" he yelled engulfing me into a huge bear hug 

"mingyu I haven't seen you in ages"

"I know and I have missed you" he squealed as he tightened the hug

"how have you been and wait you work in a café?" 

"no silly I own this café and I've been fine thank you for asking, what about you?" he said as he let me go

"I'm fine I guess, but I could be better" I sighed taking a bite of the delicious cake that just arrived 

"oh yeah I heard about what happened. It must have been difficult" he sighed taking a seat in front of the booth facing mine

"yeah anyways lets not talk about him. I'm so proud that you finally got your own café. It was your dream for so long" I said not wanting to ruin the mood

"I know and thank you shua, anyways what are you doing here?

"well Vernon said that he and seungkwan were coming here for a date so I came here to surprise them but it turns out that they are not actually here" I explained rubbing my neck awkwardly as I thought of how weird that sounded 

"what are you talking about? Vernon and seungkwan are at my pla- oh wait no they are not ignore that" he said laughing nervously while getting up and turning to the counter 

"wait mingyu they are at your house? please tell me I need to know" I whined as I grabbed his arm 

"no shua I cant sorry" he said

"I wont let go of you until you tell me" I said making him sigh

"I've got customers shua please let go"

"no, not unless you tell me where they are and give me your phone number"

"excuse me I am a married man"

"no I meant- wait a minute your married? to who?" 

"I'm married to the love of my life" he said proudly

"wonwoo" I question making him nod "oh my gawd that's so cute" I gush happily

"I know now let go"

"no" I said as I started to whine again

"ok ok ill tell you they are both at my house ok now just get off me before these customers start getting really impatient" he whines as he glances around the room

"why would they be at your place? do they always go there?" 

"I cant answer that sorry" he said making a run for it behind the counter

"take me to your house" I whined as I tried to jump over the counter

"what the flip get off I just wiped that this morning" he cried as he flicked my foot of the table "and my answer is still no" he said walking away making me slump back into my chair
