Matthew and Matt pushed through the crowd, attempting to buy some food before the game started. The entire stadium was filled to the brim, and it seemed like all of China was trying to get past them.
When they finally reached the counter, they ordered a large bucket of popcorn. Matt slid forward ten Canadian dollars and they ventured back to their seats.
The two got back just in time, the two teams were out on the ice and a woman was singing "Oh Canada."
Matthew smiled. All of this felt so right. Being at a hockey game, being in Canada, being next to... Matt.
The song finished and the crowd cheered and sat. The game had begun.
The two players starting off at the playoff circle were Calgary Flames' Drew Shore and The Maple Leafs' Trevor Smith. There was a brief struggle over the puck but Trevor got it and passed it to teammate Phil Kessel.
Phil shot it to Brandon Kozun who sent it back to Trevor. They were close to the opposing team's goal, but defense was trying their hardest to take the puck back. Trevor slapped it back to Phil who pushed it towards the net and...
GOALLLL!! It had passed Calgary's Goalie Jonas Hiller by a few centimeters. Loud sirens went off and echoed throughout the stadium. Most of the spectators whooped and hollered, including Matthew.
Matt was shocked, that was the loudest he had ever seen him. The crowd quieted and the game continued with a team change.
Matthew quivered in his seat excitedly. He felt something touch his hand. It was Matt. He felt his face redden.
Their hands slowly grasped each other's. They didn't speak, they didn't have to. It felt like it was supposed to be happening.
Without thinking, Matthew rested his head on Matt's shoulder, and Matt wrapped his arm around his... Boyfriend?
The game ended with Calgary winning, but Matthew didn't seem to care. He felt like he was on a cloud right now.
The group walked back to the secluded parking lot where their bus was located, and everyone clambered inside.

Matt and Matthew laid in there beds, in complete silence. Matthew glanced over at the taller boy. Matt noticed and rolled over.
"Hey... Matthew?"
"Yes?"
"I like you a lot."
That simple sentence was enough to make Matthew's face get flushed with warmth. He was glad there was barely any light.
"I-I like you too..."
There was a moment of silence. It wasn't an awkward silence, but just silence. A thinking silence.
"Sooo..." Matt said softly, "Does this mean...?"
"Yeah." Matthew replied.
They didn't know because of the dim light, but both of them had large smiles on their faces.
And they both felt genuinely happy, and drifted off to sleep.
