Chapter 14 - work

Sorry for not posting for over 4 months. There's being a lot going on with either being extremely busy or other stuff. Anyways I'm back now (hopefully) !

"Right you ready kian" max asked as she pushed the trolly with the electric cardioversion over to his side.
"No not really no but then again it wouldn't really matter what I would say because you two will do it anyways" kian replys as he sits up a bit.

"Exactly" jac walks over and takes out one of the pads and then applies it onto the right side of his upper chest and repeats with the other but the other is placed 2 inches below his upper chest.
Max lowers the bed lower and insert an iv drip which is then hooked up.

"So you two gonna watch my body get shocked multiple times or you gonna broadcast it instead" kian watched them as he tries to sit up about to see what they were doing.
"Mmmm probably both actually" jac pushes him back down and gives him stare signalling for him not to do it, "what do you think max" they both looked over at her while she was getting the sedation measured out correctly.
"Huh? Yeah..I love broadcasting people having an electric cardioversion. It's the best part of it" she says as she walks over to kian and slowly injects the sedation into his system, " you should start to feel sleepy now"
"Yeah..tell me something....,I don't kno........" his eyes started to close and within seconds, he was asleep.

Now that part was finally over, max and jac could both get on with procedure....

—- A few days later —-

The monitors showed his steady heart rhythm beats, along with slow, peaceful sounds of kian breathing.

"Can I be discharged yet. Or will have to stay here for the rest of my life" kian sat up waiting for anyone in the room to reply to him.
Max looked up from Reading his notes, "well obs seen normal and there's no restriction on your stitches so I'll go and get your medication and then yeah... You need somone to be around you for a while, just until your system gets used to the medication though"

"what medication? Is it lofexidine"

"yeah, look jac told me that you usually don't work well with that so you don't have to take the usual amount. Only half"
Max moves over and puts the folder back.
"great it'll give me another drug to get addicted to" he mutters. Jac just punches his arm, signalling him to shut up.
"he can stay at mine for a bit, especially now of the baby"

"no"

"yes"

"no, I can live in my own"  max just walks out, not wanting to get involved with them arguing.

"fine whatever, have fun injecting your self and then when you do, have fun giving yourself the other to stop that.... Whilst having a seizure" jac says whilst getting up to leave.

Kian quickly gets up to stop her, whilst holding his side,"alright fine, but not for long"
Jacs head nodded before soon leaving him on his own.

------ one week later -------

"Kian! How many times am I going to have to tell you to take your medication before you leave for work" kian stops and closes his drivers side door and walks back to the house. Kian sits down whilst jac gives him the injection in his left arm and then throws the empty syringe in the bin.
"How many times are you going to do this"

"Do what?" Jac questions

Kian was silent.

"Kian?"

Kian got up, "I doesn't matter" he navigated to the the cupboard,pulls out a glass and then puts some water in it.
"Yes it does"
The room was silent for a minute until kian spoke up, "why are you and max and everybody watching me 24/7 it's not like I'm a 6 year old child"

"Because you tried to kill yourself kian" jac replied as they both walked towards the car and sat down. "And. You had your breakdown and everybody didn't watch you 24/7 did they?!" Kian said a-bit too aggressive.

Jac just sat there in shock of his random outburst. As she drove off, none of them said anything. She parked in her spot in the hospital car park and then they just sat there.
"You calmed down yet" jac asked before the silence overcame both of them.
"Piss off" he opened the car door and walked off into the hospital.
It wasn't long before she got out of the car and walked into the hospital herself. As she stood in the lift waiting for it to go up, she pulled out her phone and checked on her appointment this afternoon. Jac had also gave max a quick message about kians outburst but told her to keep that in the low side.

When she arrived on Darwin she looks over at kian who was already working with a patient. She already knew that there was a pile of admin to do and because she had to cancel her electives she knew it would be her only chance of doing them today.

—-a few hours later —-

"Kian I need to have a word with you" jac spoke as she walked over to kian who was at the nurses station.
"I'm busy" He made no eye contact and didn't even bother to show emotion in his words.
"It's important"

"Is it now"

"Yeah it is"

"Look jac I don't care how important it is, I'm busy so if you could just go away that would brilliant"

"Fine,......yeah whatever. I guess you don't want to see the baby today"
Kian was silent not realising what it was about. "But if you do it's today 3:20 downstairs" she said as she walked back to her office. Kian just watched her. He didn't even bother to go back to work or anything that he was just doing. The time just kept on repeating itself over and over,' 3:20 downstairs' '3:20 downstairs' '3:20 downstairs'.
