On the morning of the festival, news reporters, pro heroes, and civilians surrounded UA, excited for the competition to begin. The students were in their assigned break room, preparing to begin the first round. Y/n sat next to Mina. Though she didn't talk, she just sat in silence. The whole room was silent. Everyone was anxious about today.

"Get ready! We will enter the arena soon!" Iida yelled. He was at the door frame counting every student, making sure everyone was there.

Y/n got up from her seat, ready to walk out and head towards the arena, but someone just had to make a scene, delaying everyone's time.

"Midoriya," Todoroki called out. He slowly stepped closer to him. "Looking at things objectively, I think I'm stronger than you. But All Might has his eyes on you, doesn't he? I won't try to pry it out of you but know. I will beat you," He challenged, looking directly into Midoriya's eyes.

Y/n scrunched her eyebrows together, surprised that Todoroki was the first to call out a student. She thought it was going to be Bakugou. It was just a friendly festival. It slightly irritated her when Todoroki was willing to challenge his classmate for stupid reasons like "All Might has his eyes on you."

"Uhh," Midoriya didn't know what to say. He wanted to defend himself but didn't know how to without exposing himself.

"Midoriya," Y/n said, not allowing him to finish his sentence. "Make me a promise?" she asked, inching closer to Todorokii like talking to him instead. "Shove his pride up his ass, and I'll give Bakugou what he deserves" She turned her head back to face Midoriya and flashed him a cheeky smile.

Midoriya's eyes widened a bit. It was the same cheeky smile that she would give her parents. He thought it was unnecessary to say that in front of everyone, but he still went along with it.

"Okay"

Every student participating in the festival walked out once Present Mic introduced everyone. Mina hurried over to catch up to Y/n and stand by her side. She felt overwhelmed by everyone and wanted someone she trusted to be next to her.

Mina wrapped her arm around Y/n's. "How do you look so calm" she whispered.

Y/n shrugged her shoulders. "Nothing to be nervous about."

That was a complete lie. Y/n was anxious. Her breathing pattern slowly became unstable. Her heart race quickened once she realized that the crowd was filled. There was no empty seat to be found. Wherever her eyes stopped, there was always someone there, cheering, watching. She felt like all eyes were on her, and she despised that.

Midnight walked up to the podium. "Quiet, everyone!" She yelled through the microphone. She waited till all the yelling dyed down. "Today representing the students is Katsuki Bakugou from class 1-A!" She announced

Y/n rubbed her face with both hands while shaking her head. "He's going to say something they don't want him to say, and that's going to be their fault for picking him," She said

Mina laughed at Y/n's comment.

"I'll be number one," Bakugou spoke.

Y/n let out an airy laugh. After hearing Bakugou's speech, she finally figured out her goal. "I'm going to win this whole festival," she said, leaning to Mina's ear.

Mina side-eyed Y/n confused why suddenly she had the urge to try. "I thought you didn't care what you placed in," she asked.

Y/n smiled. "I don't, but if winning means I get to rub it in his face, so be it."

All of the students started to fret about Bakugou's words. Y/n just stood there. His words didn't faze her; she was expecting worse, if anything.

Midnight explained how this year's festival would work. Everyone watched the screen as it randomly chose which game to start the festival. Observing the screen, it read "Obstacle Race." "All classes will participate in this race. Our school's selling point is freedom! As long as you stay on the course, it doesn't matter what you do. Now, take your places, everyone." Midnight announced, and everyone in the crowd cheered, ready to see what these talented students could do.
