A/n- how i structure my writing kinda annoys me so I might try a new way next chapter.
Once the weekend was over, classes resumed, and the exams began. As usual, the students crowded each other in class, waiting for their teacher to appear. Since the news of the hero killer had gotten out, that was the main subject of the morning.
"I heard Endeavor went to save you guys," Hagakure said
Todoroki's memory flashed. The detective had said that the credit would be going to his father. "Yea," he mumbled, "he saved us."
Y/n saw the subtle stress in his eyes. He hated talking about his father, and now he had to admit that he had come and saved the day falsely. Although she didn't care much about getting recognition, she couldn't help the nagging feeling in her bones that Endeavor, who wasn't even at the scene, was getting the praise.
"To your seats," Aizawa announced, quietly coming into the room. "Today begins your first day of the written portion."
All the students immediately sat down at the designated chair. Everyone grabbed their pencils. Feet were being tapped relentlessly, fingers cracked, and lips were softly bitten. Everyone tensed up; how they performed in these exams determined their eligibility to attend the training camp. When students got the test, they quickly read and wrote whatever they knew, skipping the more complicated ones. This became the routine for the next two days. Repeating everything till the stress was finally lifted and the bell rang on the 3rd day, indicating the test was finally over, at least the hard part was over.
The students gathered outside with their hero costumes on. It was now the start of the practical section, and in previous years, the kids would fight the robots just as they did in the entry exam. But this year's students were different; they were targets.
"This year, you, along with your partner, will be fighting one of the staff members" Principle Nezu snuggled his way out of Aizawa's scarf, landing on the ground. "The teams have already been chosen."
Aizawa stared at his kids, the fear filling their eyes. He knew this seemed intimidating, but it was for the best. "Midoriya and Bakugou, You'll be going against" He paused momentarily, allowing their opponent to make his dramatic entrance.
"I am here!" All Might yelled, his figure settling in front of the two boys.
Y/n burst out laughing. She quickly recovered, noticing everyone looking at her. "Sorry, it's just funny, you two; the enemies have to work together and go against the number one hero," she waved off everyone's looks.
Aizawa rolled his eyes, his patience being tested by the outburst. "Yaoyorozu and Todoroki, you'll be up against me," he grinned. Aizawa hand-picked every team and who they'd be going against based on their quirks and how they'd interact.
Y/n sighed, relieved that she wasn't the one fighting the man who could erase your quirk. Even if he was limited to how long it could last.
Nezu pointed at Denki, "Kaminari and L/n. You'll be going up against, Edgeshot," He cheered, the hero coming out of the shadows behind everyone.
Y/n froze; why would they bring him into this? It was said to be only faculty members. She heard his footsteps getting closer, his cast becoming more prominent than clear when he stood next to Aizawa.
"He volunteered to participate since we didn't have enough people here," Nezu clapped, his paws melting the sound.
She took in a deep breath, her eyes locked on Shinya. He hasn't spoken to her since the hospital, and now he volunteered to be the villain she has to fight. This battle wasn't just some test anymore, not to her.
