After a few weeks at UA, Y/n already decided she hated it. The school was confusing. It was a school to train "Future heroes" but had casual classes like math, English ect.
English has always been a pretty easy subject for Y/n, so she would sleep in that class most of the time, but that wasn't going to happen, not when Present Mic would be the teacher.
Y/n laid her head on the desk, her body felt sore, and her stomach was rumbling. She had no energy to be dealing with all the kids today. Complaining had to be Y/n's best attribute, though it was her fault. She always skipped breakfast.
After long hours the class ended, and lunch started. Lunch was probably the best thing that UA had. They served more gourmet meals.
Y/n stood in line with her pink-haired friend, Mina. How the two became friends will always be a mystery to everyone. Mina was very outgoing and loved to talk while Y/n still didn't know half of the people in her class.
"So, what are you going to eat today?" Mina asked, looking at the menu.
"Soba," Y/n mumbled, scrolling through her phone.
"Again? You had that yesterday," she said, looking at Y/n, hoping she would be looking through the menu, but it didn't surprise Mina when Y/n was on her phone. Ignoring the world around her
"Yes, Mina again, and I will continue having it over and over again" Y/n finally looked up from her phone "it's good anyway, so why change it."
Mina scoffed. "boring."
Y/n rolled her eyes then went back to looking at her phone. She would have to savor this one moment because the teachers were pretty strict with the whole phone rule.
Once making it to the front of the line, Y/n ordered her food, said thank you to the workers, and went to find a table. That was the hard part. The school was full of kids, and finding a table inside was almost impossible. Y/n tried convincing Mina to sit outside where it was nice and quiet, but she insisted on sitting with the kids in 1-A.
"Mina, L/n!"
Y/n looked behind, seeing girls from her class wave at her and Mina. They kept waving their hands and patted the seats next to them. Mina smiled and scooted Y/n along towards them,
"How do they know my name? I don't even know who they are," Y/n whispered to Mina.
"Maybe because they made an effort to learn your name and you didn't," Mina said
Y/n shook her head, not wanting to agree with Mina, although she was right. Y/n didn't care about learning people's names unless they talked to her. it was a bad habit she gained over the years.
"Hi L/n, Hi Mina!" Midoriya cheered
Y/n forced a smile and sat next to the frog girl, part of her felt bad for not learning or knowing their names. Taking out all of her utensils, she started to eat the egg on the top first, then the noodles.
"Hi guys, L/n, that's Uraraka, Momo, Asui, and Iida," Mina introduced everyone.
Y/n looked up, still slurping her noodles, and waved at everyone.
Crowded places always made Y/n a bit uncomfortable, and being with many people she didn't know made her feel weird. Maybe that was the reason she didn't make friends.
"How did you two become friends? Mina, you're so outgoing and cheerful, but I don't think I've heard you say one word in class, L/n," Uraraka asked, genuinely curious. Hoping she didn't offend Y/n in any way
"I sat there and looked pretty till an overly enthusiastic person came and took me in," Y/n explained.
Everyone laughed and continued the conversion. Y/n would chime in once in a while but usually stayed quiet while listening.
