Everyone sat uneasily at their tables as they waited for the main course to be served, uneasily snacking on their bread.
"My dad's not answering," Aminity reported as she sneakily checked her texts. "The storm must have messed with the towers."
"How long can this go on for?" Munroe whispered. "We have to fight back."
"No offense to your guns, Munroe, but they have real ones," Veronica told him.
"If I can get into the office, in my desk, I have a drawer full of weapons I've confiscated off the kids. Knives, switchblades-"
"No. Hold on. I'm not sure I endorse this plan. Adding more weapons to the stew? One of those kids could get hurt," Veronica argued.
"I agree. Even if we had a chance of fighting back, there's no telling who could get caught in the crossfire," Aminity sighed. They all turned as Munroe's little brother went to deliver another plate to Dodger's family, setting it down on the table. He hesitated for a second before reaching for the gun.
"What are you doing, you little runt?" one of the brother's asked, catching his hand.
"Matthew!" Munroe yelled, coming to try to pull his little brother away as Aminity and Archie ran to try to help. They managed to pull Matthew away, Munroe putting himself in front of his brother. "He didn't know what he was doing."
"Don't do it," Archie put his hand up as the brother held the gun. "He's just a kid. Everyone, stay back."
"Archie!" Mary yelled as the brother punched him in the face. Veronica held onto Mary's arm as Aminity helped Archie back up.
"That's for my brother." He handed Darla the gun.
"You know what I think, carrot top? I think you've got a hero complex. You know what else I think? I think you beat my boy Dodger into a coma and then you called an ambulance so no one would suspect you. But a mother? She knows. And you! You are gonna pay for what you've done! Now get your ass down!" She held the gun up and Archie slowly got onto his knees. "Say it. Say it's you. You're the one who almost killed my son."
"Miss Dickenson, please. Whatever it is that you think you have to do here, you don't."
"Say it!"
"Miss Dickonson, please," Aminity stepped forward tentatively.
"Don't take another step or you'll be kneeling next to him." Aminity stopped and Darla turned her attention back to Archie. "Confess, boy, before things start getting real ugly in here."
Archie glanced over to his mom before looking back up at Darla. "If I say it, you'll let everyone else here go and you can do whatever you want to me."
"I'll take that deal. But I need to hear you say it."
"Fine," Archie said before standing.
"Stop, stop, it's me," Eddie said quickly as he stood. "I wear the mask. I'm the Dark Duke. Leave Archie alone."
"Shut the hell up. It's not him," Archie told her.
"It's me," Toby stood next. "The mask is mine."
"Toby, sit down and shut up."
"I'm the guy you want," Matthew told her.
"It's me," Aminity told her.
"Aminity," Archie hissed.
"I'm the one wearing the mask at night," Sweet Pea tried, Aminity glancing at him.
"Enough!" Darla ordered, cocking the gun. "Now that was a touching display. Hell, another day, I might have even cried. But not today. I already spilled all my tears over my son. And boy, your mother's gonna find out exactly what that feels like." There was suddenly a large explosion, causing everyone to scream. Archie knocked the gun out of Darla's hand as everyone started running.
