Sheriffs POV
I saw the way Dalton was looking at my little girl. It is almost like he was eyeing her up and a one time bang deal and anyone who hurts my little girl, in a sense is hurting me too. That is something I am not going to be tolerating. I need to get him to stay away from my daughter. I know all about his past. It was after I came in to being the sheriff but with what he did, I don't need Letti being dragged down that road herself. She's never touched any type of drugs other than prescription drugs and that was it. I will not let him ruin her. So after dropping her off at the house while I'm at work, I decide to go back to Bud's and talk to Dalton myself. When I pull into the parking lot, Dalton is standing outside smoking.
~Dalton~ What can I help you with today Sheriff?
~Sheriff~ Staying away from my daughter.
~Dalton~ Who exactly?
~Sheriff~ The lady you gave a ride to yesterday when her car broke down...
~Dalton~ I'm just the tow truck driver and I work for Bud fixing the cars. That's it.
~Sheriff~ She doesn't need to be brought down for anything. I won't let you ruin her.
He walks away and goes back inside the mechanic shop, and I'm assuming is going back to work...

Dalton's POV
After the sheriff confronts me about his daughter. I wanted to ask her to lunch one day but now he's going to have an eye on her all the time. When I head into the shop, Bud tells me that her car needed a new starter and will be ready to be picked up tomorrow afternoon. So I decide to call her myself.
Phone Conversation
~Nicolette~ Hello?
~Dalton~ Hey Lettie it's Dalton from Bud's mechanic shop, how are you?
~Nicolette~ I'm good how's it going?
~Dalton~ Your car needed a new starter and Bud said it would be ready to be picked up tomorrow afternoon.
~Nicolette~ Really wow that was insanely fast. I will be by there tomorrow after my dad is off work.
~Dalton~ Sounds good.
~Nicolette~ Thanks I owe you
~Dalton~ It was nothing. Have a good day..
I hang up the phone with her. Trying to stay away from her is going to be tough.

Nicolette's POV
I'm not surprised that Bud was having my car finished as fast as he said it would be. When I got home I couldn't stop thinking about Dalton. I don't know what it is about him but he made me smile. I haven't smiled like that in a long time. But knowing my daddy he won't allow me to be with a man who has tattoos and served prison time even though he said he would give him a chance. He's most likely lying to me about this. Daddy did say he would take me there after work to get my car. I won't be able to speak to Dalton with my father near by. I need to find out what was said to him without me near. Daddy won't be honest. I'll confront him at the body shop tomorrow. He shouldn't try me that way.
