Dalton's POV

Today was a hectic day at work and I was originally going to help Nicolette move into her new apartment but I had to cancel because of all these cars needed oil changes before vacations take off in the next week or two. When I spoke to Letti, she told me that she found another device on her bed or dresser. I had to jump off quickly but I could tell she was spooked about something else. So now I'm off work and heading to her new apartment. I figured she would be more comfortable talking about whatever she needs to talk to me about. In the back of my head, I have a feeling her father is up to some shady ass deals. This isn't much of a surprise to me or her either. I pull up to her apartment building and she immediately buzzed me up. I'm usually not nervous but tonight I am really scared she's not going to want to deal with me anymore. But all I can do is hope she doesn't feel this way and that she still wants to get to know me. As I knock on her door, I hear soft shuffling across her floor. As soon as she opens the door she jumps into my arms. She is definitely bothered by something. I walk inside still holding her. I shut her door and lock it. We sit down on her couch.

~Dalton~ What happened today beautiful?

~Lettie~ I took the tracking device to the sheriffs department. I slammed it down on his desk. He gave me the bull shït excuse that he is worried about me. It was in my bedroom. Like who the hell does that shit?

~Dalton~ Babygirl, I don't understand why your dad is this way but I need to know why your having this rough day. Please be honest with me.

~Lettie~ As I was yelling at my father, this Mexican looking man starting talking to me. I told him I wasn't interested in her. He goes this isn't the last of me. I'm terrified he's going to try something worse than my father putting a device on my car, ya know.

~Dalton~ Did this guy in the cell have a name?

~Lettie~ I believe I heard my father call him Juan

~Dalton~ Shit babygirl he's a known crime boss down in Mexico, and distributes drugs across the United States.

~Lettie~ And now that he knows I'm my father's weakness being me, he will  come after me.

~Dalton~ I won't ask you to not worry but all I ask for you to do is be careful when you are alone.

~Lettie~ I promise I will be careful when I am alone.

~Dalton~ Good

I'm rather upset that he is still doing this. But after all this man is still her father and I will continue to respect him. But if it comes to her mentally breaking down, then I will stand up to him. But for now I'm focusing on building whatever this is going between the two of us.

Lettie's POV

I am so glad that Dalton didn't freak out over this Juan guy. He told me that Juan is basically a drug king pin down in Mexico. But now that my father's weakness is now known, I am in some way in danger. I did promise Dalton that if I sensed danger near by I will run to closest building and hide from him.

......

Around midnight, Dalton has to head home to sleep since he has worked in the am. I told him to let me know when he gets home.   He promised he would. I walk around the apartment to see if the window and and door are locked and they are. Now that this guy has me second guessing myself. A few minutes later, my phone goes off with a text message. It's Dalton. He tells ent he will call me tomorrow. I tell him that I can't wait and to be honest it's been a while since I have even found a man whose worth letting my guards down and seeing where this goes. I just hope I'm not the only one who is falling. One can only hope.
